World war one is full of human tragedy, the needles loss of life should stand why history should never be allowed to repeat itself. Obviously we know that lessons have not been learnt and war continues even today. The odd thing about the tragedy of east though is what we learn that can aid humanity. The best example of this is the advances in neurology during the first world war. These instances are few and far between and seem to be vastly outnumbered by the advancements in death and destruction.
White death is not only the name of this amazing story but also the name of one of these tactical advancements designed to cause carnage and fear on an equally dramatic scale. The harsh reality of the book never really lets up as you are taken onto the front lines in one of the most unforgiving environments known to man. Phil, Paul and Jon chatted about the book on a recent podcast and you can listen to their thoughts below. From the chat we had I think you can tell Phil and I are both fans of this rather brilliantly created story. If you get the chance to read it please do even if comic storytelling is not usually your thing, mostly because this is one of the best expressions of what the medium is able to do.
