With the final season of True Blood just around the corner we decided to look back at the wonderful if slightly dangerous town of Bon Temps and its eclectic band of residents. Based on the Sookie Stackhouse series from Charlaine Harris and adapted for television by Alan Ball, True Blood was an instant hit thanks to its mix of mythical creatures, mystery with a touch of original sin thrown in for a touch of flavour.
Although Sookie still remains paramount in the True Blood story as time goes on other characters begin to hold their hands up and get larger within the plot. Some are human, some Vampires and some are something a little different. Vampires are not the only creatures that now walk on the earth we have had mention of Werewolves and seen Shape shifters, but as the series goes on we find out that this is just the tip of iceberg. This series revolves around the appearance of an Ancient Greek Myth in the form of a Maenad. It’s a great conceit that really adds value to the whole story it also shows that this world is darker and more dangerous than we think.
The moment she encounters her past is perhaps one of the pest moments in the show.
Of course this would not be True Blood unless we had at least one Juicy murder, never fear as those who crave the mystery element of the show will literally have their hearts pulled out.
