News has dropped that Josh Brolin is to play the Mad Titan Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy, and presumably the next instalments of the Avengers films. Latino Review broke the news that Brolin has been officially cast in the role of Thanos. According to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, the role has been cast for a while but they weren't ready to announce it until now.
Since the release of the Phase One films, Marvel has teased the Infinity Gauntlet storyline for quite some time now. With hidden easter eggs pointing towards the five Gems that make up the Infinity Gauntlet (an insanely powerful glove that Thanos uses in the comics).
Thanos’s next appearance will be in this summers major blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. Although he is not the main antagonist in this film, It is likely he might be in another post credits scene to set up the events of the Avengers: Age of Ultron. But until we see the film, its to hard to tell what sort of role Thanos will actually have. Guardians of the Galaxy is released in Cinemas around the UK on the first of August this Summer. |
