When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—and transforms the group into a band of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery.
MALEFICENT WEAVES ITS SPELL OVER UK & INTERNATIONAL BOX OFFICE
Disney’s bewitching live-action fairy tale Maleficent continues to conjure up box office magic in the UK this weekend, taking £6.6 million in just 5 days. The film knocked X-Men: Days of Future Past off the number 1 spot after only one week and out-performed the Tom Cruise-starrer Edge of Tomorrow, as Disney’s “new” heroine proves just too powerful for this apocalyptic sci-fi movie. Internationally, the film has taken a phenomenal $100.6M across 47 territories, which is the biggest ever Angelina Jolie live-action opening domestically, internationally and globally, and represents approximately 78% of the international marketplace.
Yesterday evening Kenningston Palace in London hosted the launch of The World of Maleficent, an exhibition showcasing a variety of the costumes and props used in the film. Some of the stars of the film including Elle Fanning, British actors Sam Riley and Lesley Manville along with Angelina Jolie were present at the launch.
The exhibition will be transported to Sky Studios at the O2 in Greenwich where it will become open to the public from Saturday 24th May until Saturday 14th June.
