POLITICAL THRILLER TYRANT RETURNS FOR AN EXPLOSIVE THIRD SEASON FIRST ON FOX

Tyrant returns for an explosive third season on Monday 1st August at 9pm First on FOX.  The series picks up directly from season 2’s shocking cliff-hanger, that saw Jamal (Ashraf Barhom) shot by Nusrat (Sibylla Deen), his daughter-in-law whom he assaulted on her wedding night. With Jamal’s fate unclear, the future of Abuddin rests once again in Barry’s (Adam Rayner’s) hands.

Toby Etheridge, Head of Programming & Scheduling, FNG UK, commented: “Topical and relevant, Tyrant is an engrossing political series. At its heart a family drama, Tyrant is fascinating and well-made, and everything you would expect from the makers of Homeland and 24, and the broadcaster that brought us Fargo, Louie and American Horror Story. Set in a fictional nation in the Middle East, Tyrant is a thrilling roller-coaster ride - international TV at its very best. “

Season 3 promises even more shocks and heart-pounding tension. With Jamal’s life in danger and Abuddin on the verge of chaos, Barry steps forward as the interim president, seeking to build a new Abuddin - with a government by the people and for the people. He sets the stage for the democratic elections to name his replacement. But the nation’s distrust of the Al-Fayeeds and the perception of Barry as ‘an American”, may be obstacles too great to overcome. Swept up in the tides of revenge, army leaders overstep their bounds in securing peace. And the unsolicited U.S. support Barry receives in the form of General William Cogswell (Chris Noth), a man who has history with Leila (Moran Atias), may further fan the flames.
Tyrant was created by Gideon Raff and is executive produced by Howard Gordon, Christopher Keyset, Gideon Raff and Avi Nir.  The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions, and is distributed by 20th Century Fox Television Distribution.

Don’t miss Tyrant Season 3, Monday 1st August at 9pm only on FOX.

THRILLING PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAMAWOLF CREEK  PREMIERES FIRST ON FOX

FOX UK have acquired 6 x 60’ psychological thriller Wolf Creek from Banijay Group’s distribution arm Zodiak Rights.  Based on the international hit feature film of the same name, John Jarratt reprises his role as murdering psychopath Mick Taylor, wreaking havoc in the Australian Outback. Wolf Creek will premiere in the UK on Tuesday 30th August at 10pm on FOX.
Picture
Wolf Creek follows American teenager Eve Thorogood (Lucy Fry, 11.22.63) on holiday with her family in Northern Australia.  Sadistic killer Mick targets the family, viciously slaughtering them for his own twisted pleasure.  Seriously injured, Eve survives the massacre of her parents and little brother, and sets out to bring the killer to justice.  And so begins a chilling game of cat and mouse, with the roles reversed and the hunter becoming the hunted. A Tarantino-esque revenge tale, Wolf Creek reveals Eve’s complex and extraordinary journey, as she evolves from child to adult, from prey to predator. But can she triumph over Mick Taylor, evil incarnate?
Toby Etheridge, Head of Programming, FOX UK, commented: “Wolf Creek is a slick and tense psychological drama boasting gnarly thrills and heart-stopping tension. FOX is renowned for its high-quality horror hits including exorcism drama Outcast and the American Horror Story franchise, making Wolf Creek a perfect addition to our portfolio. Mick Taylor may not be good for tourism, but he’s great for entertainment!”.

Chris Stewart, VP Sales & Acquisitions, commented: “Zodiak Rights is delighted to be partnering with FOX to bring this fantastic series to UK viewers. Wolf Creek terrified a generation when the original film released in 2005 and with the same creative team at the helm, this brand new series is guaranteed to provide another premium dose of tension and terror!”
Picture
Adapted for television by Peter Gawler, Greg McLean and Felicity Packard, Wolf Creek is a Stan Original Series, produced by Screentime, a Banijay Group company, in association with Emu Creek Pictures and financed with the assistance of Screen Australia and the South Australian Film Corporation.

FILM AND ENTERTAINMENT’S BIGGEST WEEKEND GROWS AS SECOND ROUND OF PROGRAMMING CONFIRMED

EMPIRE, the world’s biggest movie magazine, today announces the second round of programming  for Empire Live,  a weekend-long celebration of the best in movies and entertainment taking place at The O2 in London from September 23-25, 2016.

Empire is thrilled to announce three new exciting events taking place at Empire Live; an exclusive preview screening of buddy-cop thriller War On Everyone, starring Alexander Skarsgård, a previously unseen version of Ridley Scott’s The Martian and a fancy dress screening of Jim Henson’s ageless classic, Labyrinth, with a special Q&A with designers and puppeteers, Brian and Wendy Froud.

Empire Live is proud to host a preview screening of British director John Michael McDonagh’s third movie, War On Everyone, following five star reviews in Empire for McDonagh’s first two films, The Guard and Calvary. The eagerly anticipated War On Everyone follows the exploits of two corrupt cops in Albuquerque, and stars Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) as Terry Monroe, with Michael Peña (End Of Watch) as his partner, Bob Bolaño.

Ridley Scott’s The Martian: Extended Edition stars Matt Damon as astronaut Mark Watney. The film won two Golden Globes and a Jameson Empire Award, which was awarded to Damon for Jameson Best Actor. Ahead of the release on DVD and Blu-ray, Empire Live will be screening the very first showing of this cut which includes 13 minutes of extra footage.

As a tribute to David Bowie, Empire Live will host a special screening of his 1986 film Labyrinth, plus a Q&A with the conceptual designers and puppet-builders, Brian and Wendy Froud.  The film sees Jennifer Connelly plunged into a magical labyrinth and given 13 hours to rescue her baby brother, who’s been kidnapped by Jareth the Goblin King.  Audience members are invited to come in costume fit for Jareth’s masquerade ball.

These latest additions join an already confirmed special presentation of Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! and a series of screenings in partnership with The Criterion Collection, as well as a live version of the award-winning Empire Film Podcast. Further screenings and events content will soon be revealed, with the full roster of events promising to include first-look screenings of some of this year’s most anticipated releases, specially curated bills, movie masterclasses, pop-up parties and more.

Terri White, Editor-in-Chief of EMPIRE magazine, said: “The countdown is now firmly on to the biggest and best film and entertainment weekend anywhere in the world. The combination of a big-screen tribute to Bowie, previously unseen footage from The Martian and the first chance to see one of this year's most hotly-anticipated films, War on Everyone, is just a small taste of the wonderful programming all film-lovers can enjoy this September.”

Cathey (House of Cards) and Wrenn Schmidt (Boardwalk Empire).

OUTCAST, based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever.
Patrick Fugit stars as Barnes, a man searching for answers, and for redemption, who sequesters himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt. Philip Glenister stars as Reverend Anderson, a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil on Earth. An inveterate drinker and gambler, he doesn’t believe God intends people to sweat the small stuff. Gabriel Bateman (Stalker) stars as Joshua Austin, an eight-year-old who lives across town from Kyle. To his family’s dismay, he appears to be in the clutches of demonic possession, but there’s something very different about this possession and its connection to Kyle Barnes.

The pilot was directed by Adam Wingard (The Guest).

In case you need reminding, there’s a bit of background about why Captain America and Iron Man have turned against each other (sob) and we’ve included lots of facts you might not know about the film. For instance, how huge (and we mean HUGE) the budget was, why some of the characters are MIA and which of your favourites will be making an appearance. Enjoy!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Five years ago, the UK’s first community social enterprise cinema, The Lexi Cinema in NW London decided to spread its wings and take the magic of independent cinema on the road. And so The Nomad was born.

LOSE YOURSELF IN FILM
Together the dream has always been to ‘transform lives through film’ which is achieved, not only through donating 100% of profits to charity, but by bringing local communities together; creating a shared experience for audiences to lose themselves in the wonder of film; to create new memories together; and enabling people to do good by simply having a great time.
Now entering its 6th year of meandering between some of London’s most inspiring, quirky and diverse locations, The Nomad brings its pop-up movie magic to many an unseen spot on London’s landscape. Collaborating with ever more partners and communities to bring the city to life in new, creative ways, all the time encouraging a sense of community and connection among audiences united by the love of film, the outdoors, and a shared cultural heritage. Bringing that little bit more sparkle to the pop-up cinema circuit, with street food, pop-up bars, bespoke pre-film playlists, special live music events, freebies, competitions, 'Magic Carpet' upgrades and more. Screening cult classics, Bowie / Rickman tributes, guilty pleasures, silver screen gems, recent hits and retro favourites; and, for the first time this year, introducing lates, shorts, exhibitions and canine cinema!
Here’s a recent profile video to give you a full sense of what the Nomad is about and what makes it tick: CLICK HERE
1000 LONDONERS

The programme this year speaks for itself - fun, familiar yet fresh, thought-provoking, relevant, bold and adventurous. A sense of community is at the heart of The Nomad: proudly enmeshed in London’s cultural tapestry, The Nomad is pleased to be introducing ‘1000 Londoners’ – a series of shorts created by Chocolate Films, portraying Londoners from all walks of life and all corners of the Capital. The films foster a sense of understanding between different communities and offer an insight into the lives of people who consider themselves to be Londoners. For each event, one of these 3 minute shorts has been thoughtfully hand-picked to complement the feature being shown. Programme supported by Film Hub London, managed by Film London. Proud to be a partner of the BFI Film Audience Network, funded by the National Lottery.

WHERE IS THE NOMAD?
New venues for this summer include landmark cultural destination Olympic Way, Wembley Park; the majestic National Maritime Museum; The Biscuit Factory, Bermondsey, steeped in the history of working Britain; the Royal Trinity Hospice and the Old Deer Park in Richmond. Even more venues still to be announced.
The Nomad prides itself on its partnerships and continues its 4-night season with the Royal Academy of Arts – RA Courtyard Cinema with Nomad. This year, film-goers will also have the opportunity to buy tickets to an intimate late evening viewing of the exhibition David Hockney RA: 82 Portraits and 1 Still Life.
The Grosvenor Film Festival presented by Nomad (GFF) is back for a third year at some of London’s most exclusive squares and elegant gardens including Grosvenor Square, Belgrave Square, Brown Hart Gardens and Wilton Crescent Garden. New for the GFF this summer, The Biscuit Factory, Bermondsey will offer a contrasting backdrop with a sense of the history of London’s working life, screening a ‘Made in London’ series.
Once again, The Nomad partners with The Royal Parks, bringing some cinematic magic under the stars to the beautiful leafy escape Bushy Park, the serene Hyde Park Lido on the banks of the Serpentine and the especially eerie Brompton Cemetery - with an extra date this year due to overwhelming popularity.
You can also catch the Nomad returning to some favourite haunts including Queen’s Park; Coram Secret Garden; Meantime Brewery, Greenwich; Victory Park, East Village; Paddington Street Gardens; and our year-round 'Slackers Lounge’ residency at The Hoxton, Shoreditch.
At Queen’s Park this year, The Nomad is hosting a special dog-friendly screening of ‘Best in Show’ in support of The Mayhew Animal Home. So dog-owners can rejoice in being able to bring their dogs for some one-off canine cinema! The Mayhew Animal Home will be offering free microchipping on the day, as well as a ‘Pooch & Pal’ photo-booth, doggy décor and much more to keep you and your four-legged friend happy!

Epic adventure movie “Time Traveller” starring Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbor, Sin City) and Tamsin Egerton (St. Trinian’s, Camelot) with Bollywood superstar Bipasha Basu, will release in the UK on Monday 25thApril 2016, available on major VOD platforms courtesy of Content Media, and on DVD through High Fliers. Written and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Roland Joffé (The Mission, The Killing Fields), “Time Traveller” is a sweeping romantic adventure epic set across continents, history and time.

Unfolding across multiple centuries and continents, this breathtaking epic time travels to 18th century India and beyond to tell a sweeping saga of treachery, betrayal, and love that defies all boundaries. Josh Hartnett stars as present-day marine archaeologist Jay Fennel who, following a diving accident while rescuing his wife, is left brain-dead. In his comatose dream state, Fennel is transported to India circa 1778, where a young British captain (also played by Hartnett) embarks on a life-threatening mission and a steamy romance with a female warrior (Bipasha Basu).

“Time Traveller” was shot in Queensland Australia, India and in the UK at Pinewood Studios and England’s south coast in Portland, Dorset. Produced by Paul Breuls, the creative talent responsible for the magnificent look of“Time Traveller” include Academy Award-wining production designer Luciana Arrighi, cinematographer Ben Nott and visual effects producer Alan Church.
Roland Joffé was inspired to make “Time Traveller” after visiting India. He says: “Flying back from India, I began to formulate a story about the way we relate to our past and how we relate to time. quantum physics has totally rediscovered the universe and who and what we are and what the world is. I believe at some stage in the future, quantum physics will utterly alter our political, spiritual and material lives, probably for the better”
