Hopefully you can read the tag line for the issue, " All out war". This issue is the opening salvo of this conflict but in true Walking Dead style it does not go easy. War is a basic way to resolve power struggles and it has been used all over the world in many different eras. Maybe its our base instinct and need to protect ourselves that drives us to war but one thing is for certain this conflict is more than just survival its about creating a new world order.

As always we have the Zombies infesting the world are an ever present danger but here we get to see danger in the form of guns and those who wield them. The siege scenes depict our host hiding behind a group of vehicles but they are still able to make a good fist of the attack. The opening parlay is a nice entry point into the issue and it works well knowing the characters involved.

I think the most interesting part of the whole war storyline apart from seeing who if anyone survives, will be the development of the community after the war has ended. Finding out if those who fight will lose their humanity will be a crate way to study the fragility and/or resilience of the human condition. Remember its people they are now killing not Zombies.

All thats left for me to say is the storyline continues in its rich vein and #116 is definitely worth a read.
