The trade paperback is a collection of the four issues created in 2012 as a precursor to the smash hit game created by Naughty Dog. Why the basics lesson? Because until this year I had no idea what TPB meant. I now know mostly due to this series. I started reading American Dreams as a way to better understand the character of Ellie in the hopes of expanding my enjoyment of the game. This worked but it has also started a new love affair with comics that I hope by reading this you too share.

I will not ruin through the whole story instead I'll put links to each issue in turn. The only major change the change created was a section at the end called Preparing for the End; concept sketches and designs by Faith Erin Hicks. Here we get to see the evolution of the art in the lead to an ad for the The last of Us art book. Its a great collection but I'm not sure its worth getting if you already own all the issues but I for one will be investing as a way to better enjoy the series and also as a way to remember where it all began.
