Burrrrrr its getting a little cold in Central City don't you think? Episode four aired on Sky One tonight and what an episode it was! Barry takes on his toughest match yet and a very familiar and welcome face shows up at S.T.A.R. Labs.

This week though we now have a main villain for the show. One of witch I presume we will be seeing a lot more of in the coming weeks. Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold. I have a feeling Central City is about to get a lot colder. Or potentially hotter… if the final scene is anything to go by. The strange thing is, unlike the previous villains we've seen so far. I don't actually think Captain Cold has any super powers as such. I think he's just a guy that has a really cool freeze gun, and no. Before you say it he's not like Mr Freeze from Batman.

We first see Snart as he and his team are trying to steal a diamond thats on-route to a museum. Unfortunately for him. Barry interrupts his plan. The sequence in particular is pretty great as it lays the foundations as such as to what we see later on in the episode. It actually plays quite a big role.
Still not 100 percent on the CG the show goes for though. There a couple moments in the episode including this one where it really shows. I’m perhaps nitpicking with this though. Don't let that put you off the show, because so far thats actually the only thing I have an issue with, and even thats a pretty small one.

Remember that “familiar face” I mentioned earlier? Felicity Smoak features largely in this episode. Every scene she's in is wonderful. Plenty of typical Felicity one liners we know so well from Arrow, great comedic banter between the characters too. I actually wish she was in more episodes. Both Barry’s and Smoak’s character work well together. Theres even something at the end that could suggests a bigger relationship between the two. But i’m not sure, as what happens in Arrow’s season two finale would suggest otherwise.

We see a much darker side to Dr. Harrison Wells in this episode too. Theres quite a heated scene with him and Cisco at the S.T.A.R. Labs lock up. We find out that Cisco had created a Freeze Gun; Unfortunately now in the hands of Captain Cold, which can ultimately stop Barry. For obvious reasons, the team are pretty pissed off at this. Especially Wells.

Overall though the episode had some great moments. The scenes that pit Barry up against Captain Cold are particularly awesome. The final one see’s Barry face off against him on a train. During the first encounter at the start of the episode though, Cold see’s what Barry’s weakness is and uses this against him on the train causing it to de-rail. Instead of taking on Captain Cold, Barry is forced to save the commuters and does so with style. Its great.

Never thought i’d say this so soon, but its actually getting pretty hard for me to choose a favourite already. Every episode has been so strong in some way or other. Whether its the villains Barry comes face to face with, or the banter between the characters or even the final cliffhanger scenes of the show. This one is no different and its absolutely fantastic. Take a bow creators, take a bow.
