Details of Under The Flesh and their Kickstarter project launching on July the 6th

30/6/2014

Comments

Kickstarter has been something of a phenomenon since its conception. The chance to fund project that may not be looked at in the same by big publishers has given creators an almost unprecedented outlet for creative freedom. In this spirit we will be following Under the Flesh as it launches it's Kickstater. This is mainly because after issue 1 this is a comic that deserves a bigger audience. We will be publishing a full review at a later date.
Independent comic book creator Gilbert Deltres, with artist J.L. Giles, are set to launch their first
Kickstarterfor Zombie Comic UNDER THE FLESH.
It’s been two months since Desolation Day, when an unknown male-specific virus ravaged the world, degenerating men into savage cannibals called “fleshers.”

Ruben Lobos, is a short-tempered, genetically enhanced soldier, who’s clueless about his abilities since the pathogen struck at the same time of his experiment. He’s interestingly surrounded by a diverse cast of strong female
characters in a dying world where women outlast men.

That's the world of Under The Flesh. A gritty blast of sex, horror, sci-fi, and dabbling in various sub-themes like evolution, spirituality, and transhumanism. A zombie apocalypse comic that strays away from the traditional viral
story by accentuating a premeditated reason behind the virus, as opposed to leaving the origin of the outbreak as a common question mark.
Picture
To a degree, Under the Flesh is kinda Y: The Last Man meets The Walking Dead and Crossed.

Under The Flesh was released as a weekly updated webcomic of free access in March 30. In order to bring the first issue of their insane post-apocalyptic horror to print, the project is set to launch a Kickstarter campaign on Sunday, July 6.

THE COURSES ARE KILLER IN DEADLY CLASS

High school is the ultimate proving ground in new graphic novel

Picture
San Francisco, 1987. Marcus Lopez hates school. His grades suck. He has no money. The jocks are hassling his friends. He can't focus in class, thanks to his mind constantly drifting to the stunning girl in the front row and the Dag Nasty show he has tickets to.

But this is the world of DEADLY CLASS, the graphic novel series by Rick Remender (BLACK SCIENCE, Uncanny Avengers, Captain America) and Wes Craig (Batman). Here, in King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, jocks are the children of Joseph Stalin's top enforcer, the teachers are members of an ancient league of assassins, the class Marcus is failing is "Dismemberment 101”; and his crush, a member of the most notorious crime syndicate in Japan, has a double-digit body count.

Welcome to the most brutal high school on Earth, where the world’s top crime families send the next generation of assassins to be trained. Murder is an art. Killing is a craft. In DEADLY CLASS, the dagger in your back isn’t always metaphorical, nor is your fellow classmates' poison.
Picture
“The school is almost how you would imagine: it’s cult-ish and diverse because the cast is culled from all of the major criminal organizations and government spook installations around the globe,” said writer Remender in an interview at Newsarama. “It’s a strange, clandestine place where the kids have no idea what they’re really up against. But the students coming in see that the senior class is a lot smaller than the freshman class, so they begin to get an idea.”

Artist Craig finds universal experiences in DEADLY CLASS’s extraordinary premise. “What I enjoy the most about this story is the stuff we can all relate to from our teen years: trying to fit in, getting dumped, etc,” he said. “So much drama and comedy and craziness go down in those few short years, there's a lot of creative juice in there. So I'm hoping that's what readers will get hooked on as the story progresses. And hey, if a ninja happens to attack in the middle of all that stuff, all the better!”

DEADLY CLASS, VOLUME 1: REAGAN YOUTH will be in comic book stores on July 16 and in bookstores on July 29 and is specially priced at only $9.99.

Praise for DEADLY CLASS:

“...a beautiful book that is a drastic tonal shift from Remender’s Black Science, but there’s a passion in both projects that shows the writer’s skill when he’s given free rein and paired with collaborators that are similarly unshackled.” –Oliver Sava, The A.V. Club

“Deadly Class is one kick-ass comic book. Amazing art, lettering, coloring and story. This is the whole package, folks.” –Benjamin Bailey, IGN

“This book is beautiful, dark, hopeful, violent, smart and a whole lot more things, and in two issues, it’s done more for me as a reader than most do in a year’s worth of issues. If you’re not reading Deadly Class, you are truly missing out.”  –David Harper,Multiversity Comics

“...everything you want in a comic: original and captivating writing seamlessly mixed with breathtaking art peppered with some truly creative lettering.” –Torbin Chimners,Bloody Disgusting

C.O.W.L. CALLED MAD MEN-ESQUE

The second issue of the hit new superhero series sells out immediately, rushed to a second print

Picture
The second issue of Kyle Higgins (Batman, Nightwing), Alec Siegel (Captain America,Avengers), and Rod Reis’ (Justice League) all-new ongoing series C.O.W.L. has sold out and is being fast-tracked to a second printing. The tone of the superhero comic, which is frequently compared to that of Mad Men and The Wire, has been praised by critics and leading industry professionals alike. In order to meet customer demand, a second printing of the new superhero comic will be available on 7/23.

C.O.W.L. #2 picks up with more moles, murder, and mayhem. As the C.O.W.L. superhero labor union prepares to enter negotiations with the city of Chicago, scandal threatens the organization and The Grey Raven must keep C.O.W.L. from tearing itself apart. Plus, readers will learn more about what really happened between him and Sparrow.

Praise for C.O.W.L.:

“With the book's setup out of the way, Kyle Higgins and Alec Siegel deliver some excellent character work here in issue #2, the world of C.O.W.L. affecting those powered and unpowered alike.” --IGN

“C.O.W.L. is a very solid and entertaining read. Higgins, Siegel, and Reis are providing a very fresh look on how super-heroes can function within the world, and the focus is so much more on the individuals, rather than what the individuals can do… One you’ll want to put onto your pull list.” --Comic Vine

“American history gets overhauled in C.O.W.L., a new series about the superhero labor union of 1960s Chicago that’s been described as Mad Men meets Avengers.” --The Hollywood Reporter

“This is no rebooted Justice League or X-Men. The characters deal with strikingly real issues.” --The Chicago Sun Times

“Mad Men with capes. C.O.W.L. isn’t just a compelling Superhero comic, it’s an authentic American story. Higgins and Siegel offer up engaging, sometimes hardboiled characters that Rod Reis paints with aplomb. Definitely a creative team to watch! " —Brian Buccellato, Detective Comics

"Part crime drama, part Chicago history, part superhero epic, Higgins and company have crafted something truly special with C.O.W.L. A refreshingly original debut with scope, mythology, and terrific characters." —Scott Snyder, WYTCHES, Batman

“Gorgeous stuff. Keep an eye out for this one.” —Kelly Sue DeConnick, PRETTY DEADLY, Ms. Marvel

The first edition of C.O.W.L. #2 has completely sold out at the distributor level, but may still be available in comic stores. It is currently available digitally on the Image Comics website (imagecomics.com) and the official Image Comics iOS app, and on Comixology on the web (comixology.com), iOS, Android, and Google Play.

The second printing of C.O.W.L. #2 (Diamond Code MAY148215) will release on 7/23.

C.O.W.L. #3 (Diamond Code MAY140700) will hit stores on 7/30.

SIN CITY AND HONG KONG COLLIDE IN A LIMITED-EDITION VINYL FIGURE FROM FRANK MILLER AND ERIC SO!

26/6/2014

Picture
Picture
The masters of two mediums come together with an all-new, limited-edition vinyl figure of Sin City’s beloved brute, Marv! This unique interpretation of Marv was created by Eric So, a master of modern design and a leader in the Hong Kong designer-toy movement. With the guidance of Frank Miller, So has sculpted a thirteen-inch vinyl figure that is unlike any that has come before it.

While best known for his groundbreaking toy designs, Eric So is also an accomplished designer in many other areas, such as men’s fashion and accessories. He is a legend in his native Hong Kong, and has made a name for himself worldwide.

In the same spirit as his previous collaboration with Dark Horse (a vinyl figure of Mike Mignola’s Hellboy) or his Nike-commissioned statue of Michael Jordan, So favors a humorous and cartoonish approach over realism. While Marv is depicted in his customary trench coat, he has been transformed through Eric So’s unique approach to angles and features. Still, the influence of Frank Miller’s signature style shines through.

Each figure is individually hand painted and comes with a pack of band-aid stickers, which collectors may affix to Marv as they like. Also included is a certificate of authenticity, signed by both Frank Miller and Eric So.

“Besides the figure itself, the packaqe is innovative and fun” noted Dark Horse vice president of product development, David Scroggy. “Eric has come up with a gray translucent plastic blister that is the flat front of the box. The Marv figure inside is visible in silhouette. The outer surface is over-printed in white, creating the illusion of a shadowy Marv walking in the snow. This was inspired by Miller’s classic Silent Night story. It is a striking package design.”

Frank Miller is widely acclaimed worldwide for his comic work and boasts multiple Hollywood successes, including two adaptations of his masterwork, Sin City. Marv is one of Sin City’s most memorable characters, in both comics and film.

This beautiful thirteen-inch piece will be produced in a limited run of 950 and will arrive just in time for the release of Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Mark your calendars for September 10, when this figure goes on sale for $150.

Valiant Entertainment today announced that Executive Editor Warren Simons has been promoted to the position of Editor-in-Chief. Since joining Valiant as Executive Editor in 2011, Simons has overseen the relaunch of the resurgent publisher's comic book line with an array of best-selling, critically acclaimed series including X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, Archer & Armstrong, Unity, Rai, and more.

In his new role as Editor-in-Chief, Simons will continue to preside over all day-to-day operations of Valiant's editorial department, and manage Valiant's growing editorial team. Additionally, Simons will also continue to edit a stable of Valiant's flagship series and special projects, including Rai, Unity,Harbinger, X-O Manowar, and this summer's Armor Hunters crossover event.

"Warren has been an enormous asset in Valiant's tremendous success. He's built one of the most talented rosters of creators anywhere in comics today, and has played an integral role in accomplishing the numerous critical and commercial successes that Valiant has achieved in a very short time," said Valiant Chairman Peter Cuneo.

"Warren has played an essential part in making Valiant one of the most well-regarded and formidable publishers in the industry. Our exceptional success to date has built the perfect platform for future growth. We have even bigger plans for the next three years. The future is bright for Valiant and we're proud to have Warren playing an even bigger role," said Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani.

"Valiant is a company that was built and defined by some of the greatest visionaries in the medium, and it's an honor to be named Editor-in-Chief at this extraordinary publisher," said Simons. "It's an absolute privilege to work alongside such incredibly talented and dedicated colleagues and creators every day. In the last three years, the teams have helped fashion a new, bold voice in the industry, and 2014 is going to be an amazing year for Valiant and our fans. I'm energized and excited for what's on the horizon."

One of the most critically acclaimed editors in the comic book industry today, Simons spent seven years at Marvel Entertainment, revitalizing some of the publisher's classic properties to great critical and commercial success. Simons' credits during this time included Invincible Iron Man, Thor, Daredevil,Immortal Iron Fist, and Sensational Spider-Man – titles which garnered numerous Eisner and Harvey Award nominations.

During his tenure at Valiant thus far, Simons' co-architected the hugely successful revival of the Valiant Universe – the third largest library of its kind in comics – beginning with X-O Manowar #1 by New York Times best-selling writer Robert Venditti and Eisner Award-winning artist Cary Nord in 2012. Selling in excess of 50,000 copies, the issue ranked as one of the year's best-selling new series from an independent publisher, and was followed in quick succession by the "Summer of Valiant" – a slate of new ongoing titles, including Harbinger, Bloodshot, and Archer & Armstrong, that each debuted to rave reviews and sold-out status.

After multiple awards and nominations, including a 2012 Diamond Gem Award for Publisher of the Year, Valiant forged even farther in 2013 with the debut of its first crossover event, Harbinger Wars, and the release of Unity #1 by writer Matt Kindt and artist Doug Braithwaite – the year's highest charting debut  issue from a non-premier publisher with sales in excess of 70,000 copies. Just this past May, Valiant followed up with "Valiant First" – an all-new line of titles led by the smash-hit ongoing series, Rai, and its biggest crossover event to date, Armor Hunters.

OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA EXORCISED FROM STORES

24/6/2014

Robert Kirkman’s dark new series sells-out immediately, ahead of its release date, rushed to 2nd printing

Picture
Robert Kirkman, creator of worldwide entertainment phenomenon THE WALKING DEAD, teams up with Paul Azaceta for OUTCAST, the first new series written by Kirkman himself in three years and since the premiere of the AMC adaptation of THE WALKING DEAD which went on to become cable’s most successful and most-watched television show. OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA has sold out completely before even hitting its release date.

OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA #1, debuting this week in a special double-sized first issue for just $2.99, introduces Kyle Barnes, his tragic past, and his unusual gift. Kirkman and Azaceta are zeroing in on demonic possession in this all-new dark and suspenseful series. This eerie tale blends the supernatural with a realistic setting, a characteristic of Kirkman’s storytelling that earned him early praise and success with THE WALKING DEAD. OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA’s tone echoes the grave, dread-building suspense of The Exorcist and The Sixth Sense while developing a complicated and tormented protagonist evocative of The Ghost Whisperer. Demons are here, demons are real, and Barnes is at the center of it all.

The demand for the series is so high that it has already sold out at the distributor level, the latest in a series of fan-favorite debuts from Image Comics and Skybound. This hotly anticipated #1 issue will be rushed to a second printing in order to meet customer demand and satiate the droves of THE WALKING DEAD fans in search of the next great comic. For fans of digital editions, OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA #1 remains available for purchase across all platforms, including the Image Comics website (imagecomics.com) the official Image Comics iOS app, Comixology’s website (comixology.com), iOS, Android, and Google Play.

“The Walking Dead was grown out of the direct market, everything it's gone on to become wouldn't have been possible without support from the comic book retailer community,” said Kirkman. “To see Outcast selling out ahead of release like this was clearly unexpected, but it continues a reassuring trend that could see many more homegrown phenomenon that will keep this industry we love vibrant for centuries to come.”

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Robert Kirkman over the decade plus I’ve known him, it’s to expect not just the unexpected, but everything from the twisted to the sublime,” said Eric Stephenson, Publisher at Image Comics. “Robert is constantly developing as a writer, finding new ways to get under the skin of his characters and the ever-growing audience that loves them, and Outcast is probably his most adventurous work yet. Even if you think you know what he has in store for you, this book is going to both shock and scare you.”

This second printing of OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA (Diamond Code MAY148172) will be available on 7/30.

OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA #2 (Diamond Code MAY140719) will hit shelves on 7/30.

Image Comics; DARK ENGINE—J.H. WILLIAMS III SAYS:“BUY IT, READ IT.”

23/6/2014

Comments

The new series explores the evil things that lurk inside us all, plus early artwork revealed

Picture
Ryan Burton and John Bivens, debut creators who caught the eye of comics veteran J.H. Williams III (Sandman, Promethea, Batwoman) early on, bring to fruition an all-new ongoing series that blends elements of dark fantasy and action with mystery in DARK ENGINE.

The project first came to Image Comics’ publisher, Eric Stephenson, with high praise from bestselling artist Williams III, who went into detail about how he discovered DARK ENGINE and why he fell in love with it.

“Dark Engine narratively is many things; an otherworldly horrific poetic movement that is immediately immersive,” said Williams III. “It does not flinch in creating questions, bold in that it doesn't feel it must answer them in one chapter. Where would the fun be in that?

“Hooking deeply with high concept, strong visuals, and unusual characters is how I always feel reading something from Ryan Burton. And when I saw this concept by him featuring the very charged art from the talented John Bivens I knew that I was seeing something intriguingly unique. I wanted more. So I showed it to Eric Stephenson at Image.

“Image too does not flinch, giving us great comics with profound perspectives, daring to ask there be no limitations. Dark Engine has found the right home. Buy it, read it, I know I will.”

In DARK ENGINE the world is in ruin. Infectious beasts called SporeDevils roam the country, the air is full of dead men's ashes, and fallen colossi smother the ground with their decayed husks. A cult of madmen have created a killer named Sym from alchemy, outfitting her with an engine that will allow her to travel back in time to stop whatever it was that made their world so. But these Alchemists have no idea that this engine is sentient, it is thinking. The seed of their destruction is powering an unstoppable killer. Their world is paradise compared to what's to come when Sym is unleashed.

“This book is unsafe and it is insane,” said Burton. “John and I are building a very different type of dark fantasy, one where the lead character has a sword made from a thunder lizard's rib. One where a walking dragon lives inside a dead colossus's mouth. I can't believe Image is letting us do this.”

DARK ENGINE #1 arrives in stores on 7/16, and will be available for $3.50. It can be pre-ordered with Diamond Code MAY140574. The final order cutoff deadline for retailers is 6/23.

Image Comics THE WICKED + THE DIVINE—GONE IN A SNAP

The posh new series draws early worshippers and sells out instantly

Hot off their hugely successful run on Young Avengers, writer Kieron Gillen and artist Jamie McKelvie have returned to Image Comics with THE WICKED + THE DIVINE. Every ninety years, twelve gods are reincarnated on Earth. Two years later, they are dead. During their brief lifespan the gods are revered and worshipped as celebrities. In the modern day, that means interviews with the press and sold-out life-changing concerts full of their adoring fans. With colorist Matt Wilson and letterer Clayton Cowles by their side, Gillen and McKelvie have created a pop comic like no other, as the raves on the #wicdiv hashtag on Twitter and the instant sell-out of the first issue proves.

The enthusiasm for the new series has built momentum and inspired fellow artist Bryan Lee O’Malley (Scott Pilgrim) to create a variant cover for issue #1 and artist Chip Zdarsky (SEX CRIMINALS) to sign on to create a variant cover for issue #2.

Image Comics and Top Cow are pleased to announce that Larime Taylor and Sylv Talor will return this September to the killer storyline that fans can’t get enough of in A VOICE IN THE DARK: GET YOUR GUN #1… and this time, the blood splatter will be in full color.

In this first issue, Zoey's killed again, and another killer knows her secret, but is he a potential friend or foe? She got away with murder the first time, but things won't be so easy this time around. A vengeful father with a friend on the force is out for retribution, and no one—not even Uncle Zeke—can protect Zoey from his wrath.

The series makes the jump to color with cover colorist Sylv Taylor doing interiors as well. The disabled husband and wife team provide an easy entry point for new readers in this first issue of a five part miniseries.

"There's a 'story so far' page at the front of every issue,” said Taylor. “And Sylv's muted colors keep the spirit of the noir feel from the first arc while making it more accessible to a wider audience."

A VOICE IN THE DARK: GET YOUR GUN #1, which arrives in stores on on 9/17 and will be available for $3.99. It can be pre-ordered with Diamond Code JUL140458. Cover B by Ben Templesmith (TEN GRAND, 30 Days of Night) can be pre-ordered using Diamond Code JUL140459.

Image Comics; A BOY AND HIS ROBOT IN ALEX + ADA

New graphic novel series explores the limits of technology—and humanity

Picture
Ada is an X5, the very latest in Tanaka android technology. Alex is her reluctant owner. Ada may look and sound just like a person, but she’s still a robot in a society that is growing increasingly suspicious of her kind. In ALEX + ADA, a new graphic novel series by Jonathan Luna (GIRLS, THE SWORD, ULTRA) and Sarah Vaughn (Sparkshooter) from Image Comics, Alex and Ada try to find out if artificial intelligence can make the leap to human awareness — and whether the world is ready for it.

“I’ve wanted to tell a futuristic story for a long time,” said co-writer and artist Luna in an interview at Comic Vine. “I’ve been fascinated with androids and how we’d interact with them. And since I have leanings toward drama and romance, all of it just meshed together into ALEX + ADA.”

“The book isn’t necessarily a stance on sentience and whether or not it’s possible,” co-writer Vaughn commented on ALEX + ADA’s science fiction elements, “but more a social and emotional exploration of what happens if it does.”

Appropriate to this exploration is Luna’s clean, distinctive art, which conveys the rich inner lives of characters with subtle facial expressions and gestures, as well creates a world that is technologically advanced yet still recognizably a possible future version of our world.

“Dialogue, speed, silence and stillness; it’s all very deliberate,” said Vaughn of their storytelling style in an interview at Multiversity Comics. “Sometimes dialogue and exposition are necessary, especially when quiet people are living within a dramatic world, but hopefully we keep the balance by also showing how dramatic quiet life can be.”

With a momentous decision that could shake the very foundation of the society he lives in, Alex’s quiet life is about to get very dramatic indeed — and he’s going to bring Ada along with him.

A unique story that will appeal equally to fans of science fiction, drama, and romance, ALEX + ADA VOLUME 1 will be in comic book stores on July 16 and in bookstores on July 29.

Image Comics Update; DIY FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF MAKERS INHOWTOONS

Kids build a world of fun, comic-book-style

Picture
Celine and Tucker, the brother-and-sister heroes of HOWTOONS, are kids who see the potential for play everywhere. When their mother challenges them to make something other than trouble, their adventure begins in an adventure-DIY graphic novel from Image Comics!

In 360 pages of discovery, HOWTOONS: TOOLS OF MASS CONSTRUCTION will bring kids into Celine and Tucker’s world, using everyday objects to construct toys that teach real-life science and engineering principles. Co-created by MacArthur Foundation “genius grant” recipient Saul Griffith, Joost Bonsen, Nick Dragotta (EAST OF WEST), and Ingrid Dragotta, HOWTOONS will be published in July.

Together, Celine and Tucker use items lurking in the corners of their garage, the dusty shelves of hardware stores, and even their own trashcan to create their own adventures. Through “The Legend of the Monkey Fist Clan,” the siblings learn to build a tree swing, find out the ultimate first-person shooter isn’t a video game in “The Infamous Marshmallow Shooter,” set up their own workshop, make ice cream without a freezer, play music with a turkey baster, and launch rockets. Along the way are instructions for projects seamlessly integrated into the storytelling that engage kids' creativity and natural interest in how the world around them works. From bubbles to bots, hippo farts to hovercrafts — HOWTOONS is the book for the next generation of explorers and makers.

“We need every generation to be enabled to create their world,” the creators write in the introduction to HOWTOONS: TOOLS OF MASS CONSTRUCTION. “It starts with creativity and inventing one’s own toys and games. It involves knowledge of tools, materials, and process. It will be beautiful as we marry the art with the science, and the design with the engineering. Come play with us.”

HOWTOONS will be getting a moment in the spotlight at the first-ever White House Maker Faire on June 18, hosted by President Obama, where co-creator Saul Griffith will be a guest. Griffith will be presenting HOWTOONS at the event, which “will feature Makers, innovators, and entrepreneurs of all ages who are using cutting-edge tools to bring their ideas to life.”

In addition, artist Nick Dragotta will be at the American Library Association Conferencein Las Vegas on June 27, 28, and 29, in the Image Comics booth. He will do a HOWTOONS workshop on the Graphic Novel/Gaming stage on Saturday, June 28 at 4 pm.

Just the thing to cure the late-summer doldrums and get creativity flowing, HOWTOONS: TOOLS OF MASS CONSTRUCTION will be in comic book stores on July 23 and bookstores on August 5. It’s available for pre-order now.

Image Comics Update; ROCKET GIRL—GAIL SIMONE SAYS YOU NEED THIS

Issue #6 marks the beginning of a new story arc for the hit time-traveling series

Picture
"Clever premise, charming scenario, kickass girl hero, snappy script, and luscious, expressive art. I need this. You need this. Everyone needs this.” —Gail Simone

“A time-travelling teen police force is the stuff my dreams are made of—thank you for making them come true, Rocket Girl." —Fiona Staples
Fan favorite writer Brandon Montclare (Halloween Eve) and Eisner Award nominated artist Amy Reeder (Batwoman, Madame Xanadu) return with the eagerly anticipated new story arc of the bestselling, time-traveling adventure series in ROCKET GIRL #6. With dayglo-vibrant artwork and kick-ass characters, ROCKET GIRL marries the suspense of Back to the Future with the witty dialog of Marissa Meyer’s The Lunar Chronicles as it blasts off into its next chapter.

In ROCKET GIRL #6, time-travelling teen cop DaYoung Johannson thinks she's closed the case—and destroyed her own world in the process. Now all she has to do is sit back in 1986 and watch the future unfold how it's "supposed" to...but growing up ain't easy. Unknown to her, she's not the only person from the hi-tech alternate 2014 stuck in the ‘80s. And with the keys to the future in their hands, Quintum Mechanics isn't content to simply let time take its course.

“Readers will have to judge what gets more twisted: the temporal paradoxes, or the motivations of characters faced with impossible adventures,” said Montclare. “Plus you get all the fun stuff: amazing visuals split between an '80s NYC period piece and the high-flying future city, action, speed, and one of the most unique casts of characters in comics. I'm thrilled the ‘80s adventures of DaYoung Johansson are back with #6 and a new Rocket Girl arc. The support from retailers and readers has been awesome—I know they can't wait too!”

"Rocket Girl has been the greatest creative experience of my career,” added Reeder. “I think it shows on the page, and I'm happy the reception to the first arc was so positive.  But you ain't seen nothing yet! The ‘Split Second’ arc is going to knock off some socks."

ROCKET GIRL #6 arrives in stores this 9/17 and will be available for $3.50. It can be pre-ordered using Diamond Code: JUL140456.

Image Update; BACK-TO-SCHOOL SHOPPING BEGINS WITH DEADLY CLASS

16/6/2014

Readers will totally wig out over Issue #7’s new story arc

Picture
"A bit like The Breakfast Club but with really, really dangerous kids” —USA Today

“Deadly Class is one kick ass comic book. Amazing art, lettering, coloring and story. This is the whole package, folks.” —9.4/10, IGN
Bestselling writer Rick Remender (BLACK SCIENCE, Uncanny Avengers) and artist Wes Craig return with the eagerly anticipated new story arc of the bestselling ‘80s assassination school series in DEADLY CLASS #7.

DEADLY CLASS #7 begins in March of 1988, about four months after the events of issue #6, when the terrible ramifications of the crew’s actions come back to haunt them. After narrowly escaping death in Las Vegas, Marcus and his remaining gang return to Kings Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts. But they’re about to learn a hard lesson: blood begets blood, and no bad deed goes unpunished.

“At Kings Dominion the norms of high school life are exponentially magnified,” said Remender. “Sex, drugs, violence, fear, depression, exclusion, and romance become a matter of life and death. The danger is ratcheted up and the body count is going to as well. Wes and Lee have already delivered the performance of their careers and the second arc is somehow better still."

DEADLY CLASS #7 arrives in stores this 9/17 and will be available for $3.50. It can be pre-ordered using Diamond Code JUL140453.
