Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Aliens™ with
THE COMPLETE ALIENS OMNIBUS: VOLUME # TWO
Includes the novels: Genocide and Alien Harvest
David Bischoff, Robert Sheckley

Picture
Genocide
The alien queen is dead; the hive mind left to flounder… and on a world bereft of its leader two strains of Alien divide their forces for world-shattering, acid-drenched war. On Earth, in the wake of alien infestation, athletes are flocking to humanity’s Goodwill Games. But some come with a deadly new tool: a drug called Fire, distilled from the very essence of the Aliens’ body chemistry. Pharmaceutical kingpin Daniel Grant wants it. The military wants it. But the only place the essential ingredient can be found is on that terrible world, convulsed by Alien holocaust.

Alien Harvest
Royal jelly, the most illicit of Alien by-products, is keeping Dr Stan Myakovsky alive. A once-famous scientist fallen on hard times, Stan is fighting off the repo-men and trying hard to patent the cybernetic ant that will reinstate his reputation. Julie Lish is beautiful, mysterious, and totally amoral. She has a plan so outrageous that there might be one chance in a million to pull it off. Together they make an attempt to grab the ultimate treasure—royal jelly from an Alien hive.

“The planet was not hell.

Its denizens were not demons.
They were far worse.”

Issued together for the first time, The Complete Aliens Omnibus Volume two combines two tales, Genocide and Alien Harvest, both employing the classic mix of science fiction and horror that made the film a global phenomenon.

“As entertaining and adventurous as the movies, if not more so”
MIDROAD MOVIE REVIEW on THE COMPLETE ALIENS OMNIBUS VOLUME ONE

David Bischoff writes science fiction books, short stories and scripts for television. Although he has been writing since the early 1970’s, with over 80 books published, he is best known for novelizations of popular TV series and movies including Aliens, Gremlins, Star Trek: The Next Generation and WarGames.

Robert Sheckley was an award-winning American writer. He was best known for his short stories, which he published in book form as well as individually. His numerous quick-witted stories and novels were famously unpredictable, absurdist, and broadly comical. His novel Immortality, Inc. was made into the movie Freejock, and the cult classic The Tenth Victim was made from his original short story.

HORROR FANS BE-A-WARE! Dark Horse’s "Harrow County" in Halloween ComicFest 2016

21/6/2016

Picture
Dark Horse is proud to announce that Harrow County #1 is being offered as part of the fifth Halloween ComicFest celebration. The heart-stopping thriller from the creative minds of Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook is one of 32 titles — 19 full-sized comics and 13 minicomics — available for the October 29, 2016, event. Harrow County #1 will be rereleased with a special Halloween ComicFest cover.
A favorite of critics and fans alike, Harrow County is a must-read comic in the horror genre. Hailed by Bloody Disgusting as a “masterful creation that lingers in the small moments of terror in our daily lives,” Harrow County, a 2016 Will Eisner Award Nominee for Best New Series, is the perfect example of a southern gothic fairy tale.
Halloween ComicFest, sponsored by Diamond Comic Distributors, encourages pop culture fans to visit their local comic shop to receive free comics and enter the Greatest Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
Additional praise for Harrow County:
“Harrow County is friggin' scary.  It's a story that seeps into your very being, bringing the type of fear and tension that movies need jump scares and pumping soundtracks to come close to pulling off.  Here's the kicker though: It's only the first issue.  Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook are just getting started and they've already made one of the best horror comics of the year.” — Horror Talk
“Harrow County #1 is one of the most haunting comics to come out in a while, and horror fans should not miss it.” — IGN
“Bunn's ability to turn the horror volume up at precisely the right moments helps this book obtain the desired result of something special that firmly belongs in the must read category.” — Forces of Geek

National Cartoonists Society Names Ethan Young’s "Nanjing: The Burning City" Best Graphic Novel

1/6/2016

Picture
This past weekend, the National Cartoonists Society awarded the Reuben for Best Graphic Novel to Ethan Young for Nanjing: The Burning City, a brutal portrayal of a dark part of World War II history.
“To receive the Silver Reuben has been such a proud moment for me. I was up against amazing competition, all published by Dark Horse Comics, so to have Nanjing: The Burning City selected truly humbles me. I hope my future work can continue to live up to the same standards,” remarked Young.

Dark Horse Comics swept the Best Graphic Novel category with three stellar nominations, which, in addition to Nanjing, included Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá’s Two Brothers and Jonathan Case’s The New Deal. All three titles are part of the Dark Horse Originals imprint, marketed under the banner “Great Creators, Original Visions.”

On the nominations, The Beat stated, “Dark Horse has been putting out excellent original graphic novels in recent years, with bold subjects and top notch art.”
More about Nanjing: The Burning City: After the bombs fell, the Imperial Japanese Army seized the Chinese capital of Nanjing. Now screams echo off the rubble as two abandoned Chinese soldiers—trapped and desperately outnumbered inside the walled city—try to escape. What they’ll encounter will haunt them. But in the face of horror, they’ll learn that resistance and bravery cannot be destroyed.
Ethan Young’s next graphic novel, The Battles of Bridget Lee: Invasion of Farfall, debuts in September. Young also won a 2007 Independent Publisher Book Awards Gold Medal for the graphic novel Tails.

The National Cartoonists Society is the world’s largest and most prestigious organization of professional cartoonists. Today, the NCS membership roster includes over 500 of the world’s major cartoonists, working in many branches of the profession, including newspaper comic strips and panels, comic books, editorial cartoons, animation, gag cartoons, greeting cards, advertising, magazine and book illustration, and more.

The city of Dunwall; whaling capital of Gristol and industrial hub of the Empire of the Isles.

Twelve years have passed since Corvo Attano scuppered the Lord Regent’s duplicitous plot against the crown and cleared his name of the Empress Jessamine’s murder.

Now a little older and perhaps a little wiser, Corvo sets his sights on the future and securing an apprentice to continue his legacy.  But when confronted by an impossible face from his past, the supernaturally-gifted assassin finds himself drawn once again into an otherworldly conspiracy, one that threatens to shake the very foundations of his ancient city.

Series writer Gordon Rennie is a stalwart of the UK comic scene whose writing credits include the original series, White Trash, as well as his work for cult magazine, 2000 AD, on iconic characters and properties, including Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper. Dishonored - The Corroded Man takes place following the events of Dishonored, Arkane’s blockbuster action-adventure game, which released in 2012 to huge critical and commercial success, and bridges the story through to the highly-anticipated Dishonored 2.

Adam Christopher is a novelist, comic writer, and award-winning editor. The author of The Burning Dark and the LA Trilogy and co-writer of The Shield for Dark Circle Comics, he has also written original tie-in fiction for the Elementary television series, including Elementary - The Ghost Line, a current Scribe 2016 award nominee.

The story responds to your choices, leading to intriguing outcomes, as you play through each of the game’s hand-crafted missions.

The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent (Unabridged) by Larry Correia, narrated by Adam Baldwin

A rather random comedy book created for and narrated by Adam Baldwin. Funny at times with a huge dose of pop references. Really worth a listen.

Baldwin does a great job of staying straight faced (or should that be voiced) throughout. But expect the bizarre at all corners and you won't go far wrong.

NBA ALL-STAR KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR BRINGS HIS UNIQUE MYCROFT HOLMES TO COMICS!

ATHLETE, NOVELIST AND POLYMATH LEGEND PENS ORIGINAL COMICS BASED ON CONAN DOYLE’S CREATION FOR TITAN!

Picture
This August, Titan Comics is thrilled to team with NBA All-star and Polymath legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook: a brand new standalone comic book adventure that uncovers the secrets of the elder Holmes brother.

Kareem’s passion for the character is evident, having already written a novel based around Mycroft. His Mycroft Holmes novel published in September 2015 to critical applause. Described by Academy Award winning screenwriter Robert Towne (Chinatown) as “beautifully written and full of intrigue,” the novel garnered high profile media attention around the globe with pieces appearing in Entertainment Weekly, Time Magazine, The Guardian and The London Times, and many more. Covering the announcement, The New York Times noted Abdul-Jabbar’s numerous credits even “rival [that of] Conan Doyle himself.”

An all-new adventure, The Apocalypse Handbook sees the diffident, brilliant Mycroft pulled into a globe-spanning adventure at the behest of Queen Victoria and a secret organization at the heart of the British government. A madman is on the loose with futuristic weaponry capable of destroying civilization in the most horrific manner. Can the smartest man in England set aside his idle, womanizing ways for long enough to track down the foe that may be his match?
Although the character appeared in only a handful of Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories, Sherlock’s elder brother Mycroft has gained increased mainstream awareness through appearances in smash-hit TV show Sherlock and CBS’s Elementary (as portrayed by Mark Gatiss and Rhys Ifans respectively). Charting his own course and centering Mycroft firmly at the heart of the narrative, Abdul-Jabbar’s devotion for the character was established in the novel Mycroft Holmes, for Titan Books last year.

This exciting comic series sees Abdul-Jabbar team with best-selling novelist Raymond Obstfeld (Joker and the Thief) to pen a fresh, all-new story that adds new revelations and insights into the life of Mycroft. The five-part serial features art by rising star Joshua Cassara (New Avengers, The Troop) and colorist Luis Guerrero (Doctor Who, Rivers of London, The Troop),along with a host of comics luminaries on its variant covers.

The hotly anticipated debut arrives in comic stores and on digital platforms on August 3, 2016. Retailers can order copies through the June edition of Diamond PREVIEWS.

For further news and developments on this series join Titan Comics on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr.
