So it was with baited breath that I waited to see the first episode of the TV show. A wait that was made even longer thanks to the delay in the show coming over the pond to the UK. Due to this I am only on episode 8 so think of this as a just over mid season review.
Firstly this is a slow burn, the story has taken its time to build and even now all the threads are still waiting to be brought together. The genius is however how all the central players are fully rounded characters and as time has gone on they have all been affected by the Strain in one way or another. Essentially it feels like getting the band together for the major part of the plot to start.
The most engrossing post of the story however is the strain itself, I'm a Physilogist by training so love anything with a biological principle and the Strain had taken vampirism to a whole new level. Obviously there has to be done suspension of disbelief for the principle to work but the foundations are intriguing. I do warn you though if you are squeamish this may be a show to avoid.
For now though the Strain is at the top of my watch list.
