Jamie and Phil otherwise name as the Adventures in Azeroth boys, have been on my back to play Heroes of the Storm (HotS) for quite a while. It is their go to game at the moment it seems and they have been singing its praises for quite a while. Even though I have no real history with the colossus that is Blizzard last week I took the plunge and downloaded the game. Due to time constraints though I only got to start playing last night. |
At times I will admit to being overwhelmed by technicalities and playing like a tower instead of moving like the Ranged Assassin Valla is supposed to be. This was pointed out to me by the boys in nice enough terms thankfully and this is probably why my introduction went so positively.
We did play a bot game to start with but with 15 minutes of play time I played my first online game. Playing with two high level players such as Phil and Jamie was eye opening, as they went about the task of destroying the opposition and thanks to their dominance it allowed me to make mistakes and not cost the team the game.
Did I enjoy myself? In a word yes, I will not say I'm smitten but I did enjoy myself and being able to communicate while playing was a big bonus. I will be trying to get a few more games in before next week as I try to go from a Zero to a Hero of the Storm.
