Mike Bithell Games have released a new trailer, showing off more enemy variants than previously shown. There are a range of soldier castes, which add to the complexity of the game and imply more variety of challenges and solutions on the various levels you travel through. In a nod to recent AAA games there are even dogs to contend with. So far the only enemies that have been revealed are the Pawn and the Turret, but new ones include: |
Rogue - They look to have a larger cone of awareness and move more independently than the standard soldiers.
Hound - These howl at your presence, showing off your position to other AI
Archer - They have a longer, narrower cone of presence, but can also attack you from a longer distance.
At this stage we are just speculating at the details of the new enemies but it certainly shows more depth and variety of game play than earlier versions of the game. Also revealed is the first voice over of the game's antagonist, Gisborne, played by Andy Serkis. The intro is from Alan, the AI of the Volume, played by Danny Wallace, who returns for this game.
In the UK, Volume is also the cover star of Official Playstation Magazine's subscriber edition. Volume is coming in 2015 for PS4/Vita/PC/Mac
