A statement from SCE said:
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc (SCE) brings a premier virtual reality experience to Develop in Brighton with Project Morpheus. The ability to make people feel like they’re present elsewhere makes VR a new and compelling medium for a variety of gaming and non-gaming applications. Drawing on SCE’s rich history of hardware design and technologies, the advancement of displays, sensors, and optical lens technology has made it possible to develop a light and high performing headset. SCE believe that in the near future, it will be possible to deliver an experience that enables players to step inside the world of their games. We encourage a wide range of developers to take interest in this virtual reality system. We look forward to connecting with attendees at Develop and offering a rare chance to experience and discover project Morpheus first hand.
Tandem Events also confirmed a session dedicated to techniques on how to create VR illusions with Project Morpheus on Thursday 10 July at 4pm entitled ‘Developing for Project Morpheus’.
“We are delighted to announce that Project Morpheus will be on the Develop in Brighton Expo floor,” commented managing director of Tandem Events, Andy Lane. “VR is one of the hottest topics in the development community currently and by having the headsets available for delegates to try, not only will they be able to hear from some of the greatest minds about the future of VR, they will be able to get invaluable hands on time with Sony Computer Entertainment’s venture.”
This announcement follows the confirmation of President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sony Computer Entertainment, Andrew House and lead system architect on Sony's PlayStation 4, Mark Cerny will deliver the Develop in Brighton conference keynote on the morning of Wednesday 9 July.
