As KONAMI is the exclusive holder of the UEFA Champions League competition, the game's global packaging will highlight Pro Evolution Soccer 2014's replication of the competition, rather than concentrating on players. PES embodies the aspirations, skill and determination that shine through in Europe's premier club competition, and the new packshot uses the globally recognised branding of the tournament.
In addition to releasing the UEFA Champions League packshot, KONAMI has also released its Latin American covers for PES 2014, showcasing the players and leagues that make up some of the most exciting soccer squads in the world.
KONAMI has also announced DLC elements for the new game, in addition to a number of pre-order elements. Fans who pre-order Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 from certain retailers will be given DLC codes to add classic Latin American and European kits to the main game. These include famed sides such as AC Milan (1989-90), Manchester United (1998-99), Santos (1968), Colo Colo (1992) and Boca Juniors (1997). Additional digital pre-order DLC will add current third kits for teams such as Manchester United, Inter Milan and Juventus. Roster updates, new kit elements and additional DLC will also be regularly available during Pro Evolution Soccer 2014's lifespan.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 marks a new beginning for the popular series, with its new FOX engine allowing for the most comprehensive advance in the PES franchise since its inception. For years, the PES Productions Team has looked at how matches ebb and flow to develop a new approach to football. As a result, PES 2014 will use Kojima Production's renowned Fox Engine at its core. It has six central tenets: M.A.S.S., TrueBall Tech, Heart, PES ID, Team Play and Core. They govern everything from the way the player receives and controls the ball, the physicality of play, and the 'feel' of match-day: the rush of euphoria or crushing lows that experiencing an important game can bring.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 will be available at retail stores throughout North, Central and South America and nationwide beginning Sept. 24, 2013.
