The video above shows some animation created by developer 4A games for a new weapon being integrated into their 2013 release Metro; Last Light. The difference with this piece of DLC is that it was designed as part of a competition run by GamePlanet.co.nz. The winner was Alexandre Bannwarth, a 1st year design student at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. As the name of the gun suggests it was created by using spare parts from a bike. The premise that the people who live in the Metro are scavengers and are able to adapt anything they find in the name of defense make the design even more ingenious. The Multi Barreled Bicycle Shotgun appears in the latest DLC pack for Metro: Last Light, the aptly named ‘Developer Pack’, available to download now. For the full story on how Alexandre’s design became reality, including his own design notes and work-in-progress images taken from 4A’s development process, visit GamePlanet.co.nz.
