It was pleasing to see that Microsoft will continue the support for the 360 into the next generation. With the unfortunate state of affairs that the new console will not be backwards compatible. If they killed the 360 support millions of gamers would be left to suffer.
A new Skew (see the picture to the Right) has been announced with a 4GB console with a RRP at £149.99 and a 250GB with an RRP of £199.99. With both versions being significantly cheaper than the newly announced Xboxone there will be quite a few of these updated consoles flying off of the shelves.
On the games front the news is also bright.
The hugely successful World of Tanks is coming with a new dedicated control scheme for the 360 controller. The gameplay shown looked impressive and best of all the game is free to play for those with a Gold account. Sign up for the Beta by following this Link.
In other news, Xbox Live Gold members will also be receiving Fable 3 (with no expiry on usage once downloaded) and an additional two games a month. This is beginning with Assassins Creed 2 and Halo 3 and the promotion will run from the First of July 2013 to December the 31st 2013.
There will be a large amount of games coming out for both the 360 and XboxOne. These include Battlefield 4, Watchdogs and Call of Duty Ghosts among other.
It's good to see the Xbo360 still has a future with new skews and a healthy line up of games still to come.
It seems Xbox have learnt from the mistakes they made with the first generation xbox and this can only be good for those non-early adopters out there.
