Why this has piqued our interest -Phil Oft rumoured but never actualised, this is a major coup for Sony. Whilst they say play it first, implying it’s simply a timed exclusive, the long relationship between between Square Enix and Sony could mean that it’s exclusive enough to draw people on the fence between the two consoles, and for whom FF7 is a deal breaker, to commit to Sony. Personally, I can’t wait to see how Square Enix realise this. My love of FF7 is well catalogued at Backwards Compatible and so I desperately hope they keep true to the original game, but so far it looks amazing.
