World of Tanks Update 9.10 Brings Reinforcements for the Japanese Nation

2/9/2015

Picture
Wargaming today announced that update 9.10 for World of Tanks is now live globally, bringing nine new Japanese vehicles and the next exciting stage in Domination event: Rampage.

This new branch of Japanese tanks sees Tiers 2 through 10 get some serious backup in a series of heavy-hitting vehicles, featuring medium and heavy tanks. Notable vehicles include the Type 91, a Tier 3, which is the first Japanese heavy tank in the game, with a high damage-per-minute output. Tanks from Tiers 6–9, featuring the Tier 6 O-I, Tier 7 O-Ni, Tier 8 O-Ho, and Tier 9 Type 4 Heavy, boast tough armor and powerful weaponry. Finally, the Type 5 Heavy at Tier 10 has thick armor and a devastating 140 mm gun.
What makes this new tank line even more special is that Japanese company FineMolds provided World of Tanks with a 3D tank models based on the O-I. The blueprints were assumed destroyed, but by working together, FineMolds and World of Tanks were able to bring these vehicles to life in-game. The models helped designers construct the O-I-Experimental and continue Wargaming’s mission of historical accuracy in their titles. This collaboration continues with a series of World of Tanks plastic models for sale, starting with the Type 1 Chi-He, Type 4 Chi-To, and the Type 5 Chi-Ri medium tanks.

Update 9.10 also brings Rampage event, containing Steel Hunt and Domination. Players can rent one of the three tanks to engage in the event: the AMX 50 B (D), the Object 140 (D) and the Т110Е5 (D), as well as use their vehicles that comply with the rules. In Steel Hunt, players can command Tier 10 vehicles exclusively, with the ability to respawn in their battle to capture flags, earning the most Victory Points. In Domination, players can use their Tier 8–10 vehicles in furious 10 minute battles to destroy enemy tanks and transport captured flags to select zones to score Victory Points.

Map availability has also been introduced. Now players will be able to battle across more maps as they work up the Tech Tree, unlocking more tiers. A new garage tutorial also makes it easier than ever for players, from veterans to new recruits, to familiarize themselves with game’s basics and discover useful tips. There is also the addition of a smaller game client, which lets players roll out in a more streamlined version of World of Tanks.

World of Tanks and Google Invite You into a Virtual World

26/6/2015

World of Tanks and Google Invite You into a Virtual World! Imagine feeling the turret shake on a Centurion as it rattles over rough ground, or seeing exactly how much space the crew of a Hetzer had to live in! This will soon be easier than ever as we’re proud to announce an innovative and exciting new project for World of Tanks called “Virtually Inside the Tanks.”
Picture

With the help of Google and The Tank Museum, Bovington, England, we have been hard at work creating a pioneering series of Google 360 panoramic videos focused on historic fighting vehicles. Google 360 videos are a revolutionary step towards virtual reality. They behave like Youtube clips, but allow you to choose the angle that you wish to view the action from, as if you were right in the thick of it!
Check out our gallery of photos from the first series of Google 360 shoots:Click to site

The videos we have filmed will be debuting at this year’s Tankfest. To help you view them at the event, our community team will provide you with Google Cardboard and NANO VISR headsets that place you in the midst of the 360 video’s world. They are easy to assemble and will have unique World of Tanks branding:

The first series will star some of the legends of World of Tanks – the T-34-85, the Easy-8 Sherman “Fury” from the movie, the Type 59, Leopard 1 and the Chieftain. We would like to extend our thanks to the team at The Tank Museum for their help in working with these incredible machines. As well as showing the tanks in action, you will be able to watch a guided tour inside and out with Wargaming Military Specialists - Richard “The Challenger” Cutland and Nicolas “The Chieftain” Moran.

These videos will not solely be available at Tankfest or future events - the first batch in this series of Virtually Inside the Tanks is available at vr.worldoftanks.eu – head over and check them out! We’ll keep you informed on social media and through Wargaming portals as and when new videos become available, and how you can view them.
More Information on Tankfest 2015

This year, our community team have invited a truck-load of Youtube stars and Twitch streamers from across the EU region to join us for what will be a bumper weekend of tank action! We will be hanging out across the event and also bringing the MGT-20 gaming truck with us, packed to the brim with the latest hardware for you to play our titles on.

Domination Event Unleashed in World of Tanks

2/6/2015

Respawn, re-supply, re-select, and re-evaluate your game plan for this latest event

Picture
Why this has piqued our interest.

Despite Planes and Warships the fact Wargaming continue to give support to Tanks shows a willingness to support the community.

This new and inventive game mode seems like a much quicker paced engagement and the respawn/resupply mechanic will add an extra level of tactics.

Beware this is a time limited game mode and will be removed after a month or so.

All the details on the update

Wargaming is proud to announce that the hotly anticipated Domination Event has arrived for World of Tanks. If commanders are ready for a challenge like never before, then they need to enlist while they still can. This Event won’t be around forever. Beginning today, it is due to last for about a month.

The Domination Event features intense 10 minute battles. Three special vehicles are available to use: the AMX 50 B (D), the Object 140 (D) and the Т110Е5 (D), all Tier 10.

If you have never experienced the might of a Tier 10 vehicle, now is your chance. And if a commander believes they know all about these three special vehicles, think again. You’ll need to employ new strategies when you hear about all our exclusive features.

Newly introduced in this event is the ability to respawn. This means that the battle doesn’t end when a commander’s tank is sent to the scrap heap. After a player’s vehicle is destroyed, the vehicle selection menu becomes available. Here, they can select a new vehicle and roll out into the battle once more with no limit.

Across each map in the Domination Event, there are Resupply Points. If you’re running low on ammunition, need to get your tank in working order after one to many hits, then you’ll be rushing for safety. Each map contains four special areas where players can replenish their vehicle’s ammunition as well as repair it.

So how does a commander seize victory? With Victory Points, of course! Players must achieve more Victory Points than their opponents within the 10 minute time limit. Along with destroying enemy tanks to gain points, players can earn Victory Points by capturing flags and taking them to select zones on the map.

Brand new map and Japanese vehicles roll out in latest World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition update - Imperial Steel

25/2/2015

Picture
Hot on the tracks of the recent Chi-Nu Kai tank, Wargaming today introduced the Imperial Steel update for World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition, bringing a brand new line of Japanese tanks to the game. Console tankers can now advance through the Japanese Tech Tree and engage the enemy on the newest map, “Sacred Valley”.

The Imperial Steel adds an impressive thirteen new vehicles to tanker arsenals. The Japanese Tech Tree will initially field two branches with nine medium and four light tanks available for battle. Players can now command the following light tanks: the R. Otsu, the Ha-Go, the Ke-Ni and the Ke-Ho. Additionally, powerful Japanese medium tanks roll into the fray, with the Chi-Ni, STA-1, Type 61 Chi-Ri and more at tank commander’s disposal. Medium tank commanders can now gain a competitive edge whether it is through their vehicle’s agility or the impressive rate of fire the Japanese mediums deliver.

A new Japanese battleground unfolds for tankers with the arrival of the “Sacred Valley” map. An abandoned village at the bottom of a serene-looking valley provides great cover for tanks of all sizes while bringing the opportunity for intense, short-range skirmishes. The map is bordered by cliffs, and the advantageous high ground will let long-range gunners rain the destruction on any tank unlucky enough to enter into their gun sights.

Organized with support from the city of Warsaw, the event will see the 12 finest World of Tanks teams clash in a series of high-octane battles to determine who deserves the title of the world champion.

Soon, we’ll see the best of the best meet in the final face-off in what’s set to be a breathtaking and action-packed Grand Finals.”

“I’m delighted that Warsaw, for a second time in a row, will be hosting the best World of Tanks pro players,” said Michał Olszewski, Deputy Mayor of Warsaw. “It’s thanks to the excellent cooperation and the great atmosphere of last year’s event that organizers decided to choose the Polish capital once again for the Grand Finals. The previous tournament gathered masses of spectators and I hope that this year will be another resounding success.”

Ahead of last season’s regional qualifiers, the Wargaming.net League introduced a revamped tournament format, coming up with Attack/Defense mode. The new setup and rules were developed in cooperation with pro gamers to strengthen gameplay and streamline objectives in eSports matches for World of Tanks. Whether playing in attack or in defense, teams now have to take a proactive role in order to win, enhancing the tournament’s entertainment value. Having no chance of a draw, players must seize the initiative in battle to ensure victory. The teams had one season to refine their tactics and master the new setup.

During its first year, the Wargaming.net League has attracted over 200,000 pro gamers and hosted over 1000 tournaments. Drawing on the enthusiasm of Wargaming, its players and fans, the upcoming Grand Finals are set to be an even larger spectacle than last year’s event.

The movie is not about the technical aspects of the restoration process, but about the enthusiastic attitude, love for history and the relationships in the team. What makes this tank unique is that all of the parts used in the restoration were manufactured during World War II. With no special equipment at their disposal, the team manages to fully restore the vehicle to its working condition.
