Domination Event Unleashed in World of Tanks

2/6/2015

Respawn, re-supply, re-select, and re-evaluate your game plan for this latest event

Picture
Why this has piqued our interest.

Despite Planes and Warships the fact Wargaming continue to give support to Tanks shows a willingness to support the community.

This new and inventive game mode seems like a much quicker paced engagement and the respawn/resupply mechanic will add an extra level of tactics.

Beware this is a time limited game mode and will be removed after a month or so.

All the details on the update

Wargaming is proud to announce that the hotly anticipated Domination Event has arrived for World of Tanks. If commanders are ready for a challenge like never before, then they need to enlist while they still can. This Event won’t be around forever. Beginning today, it is due to last for about a month.

The Domination Event features intense 10 minute battles. Three special vehicles are available to use: the AMX 50 B (D), the Object 140 (D) and the Т110Е5 (D), all Tier 10.

If you have never experienced the might of a Tier 10 vehicle, now is your chance. And if a commander believes they know all about these three special vehicles, think again. You’ll need to employ new strategies when you hear about all our exclusive features.

Newly introduced in this event is the ability to respawn. This means that the battle doesn’t end when a commander’s tank is sent to the scrap heap. After a player’s vehicle is destroyed, the vehicle selection menu becomes available. Here, they can select a new vehicle and roll out into the battle once more with no limit.

Across each map in the Domination Event, there are Resupply Points. If you’re running low on ammunition, need to get your tank in working order after one to many hits, then you’ll be rushing for safety. Each map contains four special areas where players can replenish their vehicle’s ammunition as well as repair it.

So how does a commander seize victory? With Victory Points, of course! Players must achieve more Victory Points than their opponents within the 10 minute time limit. Along with destroying enemy tanks to gain points, players can earn Victory Points by capturing flags and taking them to select zones on the map.

Brand new map and Japanese vehicles roll out in latest World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition update - Imperial Steel

25/2/2015

Picture
Hot on the tracks of the recent Chi-Nu Kai tank, Wargaming today introduced the Imperial Steel update for World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition, bringing a brand new line of Japanese tanks to the game. Console tankers can now advance through the Japanese Tech Tree and engage the enemy on the newest map, “Sacred Valley”.

The Imperial Steel adds an impressive thirteen new vehicles to tanker arsenals. The Japanese Tech Tree will initially field two branches with nine medium and four light tanks available for battle. Players can now command the following light tanks: the R. Otsu, the Ha-Go, the Ke-Ni and the Ke-Ho. Additionally, powerful Japanese medium tanks roll into the fray, with the Chi-Ni, STA-1, Type 61 Chi-Ri and more at tank commander’s disposal. Medium tank commanders can now gain a competitive edge whether it is through their vehicle’s agility or the impressive rate of fire the Japanese mediums deliver.

A new Japanese battleground unfolds for tankers with the arrival of the “Sacred Valley” map. An abandoned village at the bottom of a serene-looking valley provides great cover for tanks of all sizes while bringing the opportunity for intense, short-range skirmishes. The map is bordered by cliffs, and the advantageous high ground will let long-range gunners rain the destruction on any tank unlucky enough to enter into their gun sights.

The 12 biggest names in World of Tanks set to compete in totally revamped eSports tournament format

Wargaming is excited to announce that the Wargaming.net League 2015 Grand Finals will be taking place on April 25–26 at EXPO XXI in Warsaw, Poland. Organized with support from the city of Warsaw, the event will see the 12 finest World of Tanks teams clash in a series of high-octane battles to determine who deserves the title of the world champion.

“The biggest WGL eSports event is about to start its engine,” said Mohamed Fadl, eSports Director of Europe and North America at Wargaming. “The recent revamp of tournament rules changed the surface of WGL eSports. Soon, we’ll see the best of the best meet in the final face-off in what’s set to be a breathtaking and action-packed Grand Finals.”

“I’m delighted that Warsaw, for a second time in a row, will be hosting the best World of Tanks pro players,” said Michał Olszewski, Deputy Mayor of Warsaw. “It’s thanks to the excellent cooperation and the great atmosphere of last year’s event that organizers decided to choose the Polish capital once again for the Grand Finals. The previous tournament gathered masses of spectators and I hope that this year will be another resounding success.”

Ahead of last season’s regional qualifiers, the Wargaming.net League introduced a revamped tournament format, coming up with Attack/Defense mode. The new setup and rules were developed in cooperation with pro gamers to strengthen gameplay and streamline objectives in eSports matches for World of Tanks. Whether playing in attack or in defense, teams now have to take a proactive role in order to win, enhancing the tournament’s entertainment value. Having no chance of a draw, players must seize the initiative in battle to ensure victory. The teams had one season to refine their tactics and master the new setup.

During its first year, the Wargaming.net League has attracted over 200,000 pro gamers and hosted over 1000 tournaments. Drawing on the enthusiasm of Wargaming, its players and fans, the upcoming Grand Finals are set to be an even larger spectacle than last year’s event.

New USSR MiG Fighters Take Flight in World of Warplanes

25/10/2014

Flight combat MMO gets new aircraft line, bigger map and revamped warplane roster in Update 1.6
Picture
Wargaming today announced the launch of content update 1.6 for its massively multiplayer aviation combat game World of Warplanes. The update adds a new line of Tier 5 and higher Russian MiG fighters as well as revamps the currently existing plane roster by adding a new multirole class of warplanes for ultimate player freedom and customization.

Known for their breakneck speed and power, the Russian MiG line of jets helped define an entire era of aircraft combat. Starting at Tier 5, the new line of aircraft includes the MiG-3, MiG-9 and the legendary MiG-15bis, one of the world’s first swept wing jet fighters to be ever produced and find success in the skies of battle.

Update 1.6 will also see major changes in the creation of a brand new class of warbird—the multirole fighter. Made specifically for players looking for fighters with a balance between both air and ground combat, the new multirole class will allow them to outfit planes with armaments balanced between high caliber guns and ground destroying bombs and rockets. Previous aircraft in the fighter class, as a result, have now been designated as pure aerial combat dogfighters, which will also benefit from new balance changes for both cannons and machine guns.

Lastly, the El Halluf map will see its boundaries extended, providing a more ample landscape for battle. For more information on World of Warplanes Update 1.6 and to register for a free account, visit:

The turns and twists in this icy deathtrap make Arctic Region an engaging battlefield. Wicksteed At War is one of the most established British, annual, military-history shows and is a must-see event that brings the story of tanks and soldiers to life. "We at Wargaming are really excited to be attending this show for the first time. We have something special to be unveiled which will form the backbone of all the events that we will be attending in 2014"said Markus Schill, Director of Customer Relations at Wargaming.

"Events like this bring us a lot closer to a likeminded audience who like tanks and military history. With over 40,000 people being thrilled by the WWII battle re-enactments and vehicle displays, it will be great to meet up and chat with fans of the game, and make some new ones along the way, at this truly special event."

World of Tanks is a team-based, massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armoured warfare. Throw yourself into the epic tank battles of World War II with fans of steel machines from all over the world. Your arsenal includes over 300 armoured vehicles from Great Britain, the United States, Germany, the Soviet Union, France, Japan and China, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

Wicksteed At War is a show that seeks to educate visitors in the realities of war through its dedication to displaying military vehicles and providing a space for realistic re-enactments by military re-enactment groups. Combined with the family attractions of Wicksteed Park it is a great weekend for visitors young and old.

Among the attractions planned for this year are Battle of Britain memorial fly overs by a Lancaster Bomber (Saturday) and a Spitfire (Sunday), a Fire engine display, a tank display team, World War II battle re-enactments and vehicle displays.

There will also be a 1940s Blitz-era Ball in the park's Pavilion on the Saturday, as well as a beer festival. For the first time, the event will also include a firepower demonstration, showing the crowd the difference in noise between a pistol and a tank gun and everything in between.

13/5/2014

Picture
Wargaming yesterday announced the Dornier Do17 aircraft’s final resting place at the Royal Air Force Museum in Cosford, Shropshire, United Kingdom upon completion of the restoration in 2015.

In 2013, Wargaming and the Royal Air Force Museum set out to restore the only known surviving Dornier Do17 aircraft and provide visitors with the opportunity to view the renovation process and learn more about its history and role throughout World War II. The exhibit currently features restored pieces of the plane and upon completion next year, the Dornier Do17 aircraft will be featured alongside the Wargaming.net Interpretation Zone.

Additionally, to celebrate the opening of the Wargaming.net Interpretation Zone on Feb. 28, Wargaming and the RAF Museum launched a mobile application, Apparition, using augmented reality to view a virtual version of the aircraft flying over the museum. Users were encouraged to submit photos of the hundreds of virtual Do17’s from around the world, and the top 15 photos from Australia, UK, Ukraine, Philippines, Mexico and the USA were chosen to be on display at the exhibit.

“Offering people around the world to participate in each step of the Dornier Do17 renovation process has been a truly gratifying experience,” said Tracy Spaight, Special Projects Director at Wargaming. “As a company heavily invested in the preservation of military history, we feel it’s important to show our gratitude and appreciation towards these unique relics. “

World of Warships introduces the Battleship USS Texas

23/3/2014

Along with the 100th anniversary, we are proud to announce the addition of Texas ship into World of Warships.
Picture
When referring to military ships, 100 years is a very respectable age. Given that, we are excited to announce that March 12 this year marks the 100th anniversary of the well-known battleship USS Texas. This grand vessel is a veteran of both World War I and WWII, having taken part in Operation Torch and the disembarkation in Normandy. Today, the World of Warships team celebrates this veteran ship and its heroic crew!

Along with the 100th anniversary, we are proud to announce the addition of Texas to World of Warships! The ship will appear in-game as a tier V New York-class battleship. When researching the module, you will see various changes that were made to the ship during its long service. For example, instead of lattice masts on Texas, you may see more modern tripod variations.

World of Warships How to; Fire major calibre guns

23/3/2014

Picture
Although naval artillery first appeared as a main armament in the days of sailing ships, it reached its highest stage of development in the first half of the 20th century. In World of Warships, military equipment revisits this historical period, and being in control of major calibre, that is to say, major artillery weapons, is an important part of gameplay.

For some classes of ship, such as battleships and cruisers, these guns are the only way to destroy the enemy. For others, such as cruisers equipped with torpedo tubes, or destroyers, they are not as important. Many aircraft carriers have no major calibre guns and their weapons are consigned to being secondary artillery weapons.
There are many different turret configurations, each of them designed for a specific task by naval architects. In some projects, the main goal was to provide maximum broadside firepower, in others – the most efficient forward firepower. The location of major calibre guns could also be dictated by technical factors like weight or other restrictions. As expected, turret configuration will affect gameplay directly and the differences between them will be obvious for players.
