A consistent New York Times bestseller, 'FABLES' is written by Bill Willingham and is one of DC Entertainment's longest-running series published under its Vertigo imprint since 2002. With over a dozen Eisner Awards, including Best Writer, Best New Series, and numerous wins for Best Serialized Story, the FABLES universe has become one of the richest mythologies in the world of comics, imagining that characters like Snow White, The Big Bad Wolf and Pinocchio from the world's most beloved storybooks are real - Real, and living among us, with all of their powers intact.

Set prior to the events seen in the first issue of the FABLES comic book series, The Wolf Among Us puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf, a man once more infamously known as The Big Bad Wolf.  Now the sheriff of a hidden community in New York City, exiled from the land of fairy tales, Bigby is tasked by the bureaucrat Snow White to keep order within a society of mythical creatures and characters trying to remain undetected in the world of the mundane.  From a chain-smoking member of 'The Three Little Pigs,' to a slippery Mr. Toad itching for his next wild ride, The Wolf Among Us examines the lives of beings straight from the pages of myth and lore, now trying to survive on the meanest and most run-down streets of New York.

Telltale Games, Skybound Entertainment, and Zen Studios  to create a new table based on the Walking Dead

4/6/2014

Picture
Two of the best users of licensed properties in gaming have teamed up to bring a new take on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead. Telltale's the Walking Dead was a revelation in story telling when it was first released and Zen Studios are masters of the Silver Ball.
The new partnership announced today will see Zen create a table based on Telltale's series and it is looking nasty to say the least.
The trailer below will help you understand and keep your eyes peeled for more news.
The pinball masters at Zen Studios have partnered with leading developer of digital entertainment Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman, the Eisner Award-winning creator and writer of The Walking Dead for his Skybound imprint at Image Comics, to create an all-new digital pinball table based on the award-winning The Walking Dead game series, continuing an age-old tradition in celebrating some of the biggest icons in entertainment on the classic pinball playfield.

A true collaborative effort, both Zen and Telltale have worked together on each detail of the table design, sharing ideas and fusing their passion to bring the story and choice-driven gameplay of The Walking Dead: Season One journey to the playfield. Touring locations from Clementine's treehouse and Everett's pharmacy in Macon, all the way down the tracks to the walker-infested streets of Savannah, players will find an authentic tour of Season One capturing the peril and drama of Lee and Clementine's story.

"Zen Studios is a huge admirer of Telltale Games, and we truly cherish the opportunity to work with such amazing visionaries," said Mel Kirk, Vice President of Publishing at Zen Studios. "Working with Telltale's The Walking Dead is a hallmark moment as we continue our quest to create the most memorable and authentic pinball experiences."

The Walking Dead Pinball table features choice-driven gameplay across each of Season One's five episodes, along with original story dialogue from the award-winning cast.  Scenarios include choosing who to save and who to leave behind in a walker attack, solving problems and keeping up morale within the group, searching for food and supplies, acquiring important tools, and navigating through the herd amidst an oncoming walker breach.

"Zen knocked it out of the park with their interpretation Telltale's first season of The Walking Dead as a pinball table," said Steve Allison, SVP of Publishing at Telltale Games. "Players once again get to step into the shoes of Lee Everett and protect Clementine as all the major events of season one play a role in the first ever pinball game that features choice and consequence gameplay."

The Walking Dead Pinball table will be demonstrated at this year's E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo, and those in attendance can get a sneak peek hands on at Telltale's booth in the Concourse Hall.

The Walking Dead Pinball table will be available for download later this summer on Zen Studios pinball platforms across console, PC, and mobile stores.

Featuring two playable characters, the story is told from two unique perspectives that will alternate as the story progresses. These characters include Rhys, a scheming, low-level data-miner within Hyperion who's plotting his own grand ambitions; and Fiona, a clever and classic fast-talking con-artist born and raised on Pandora out to pull off the grift of a lifetime.

The Walking Dead: Season Two Premiere - Episode One: "All That Remains"

12/12/2013

Picture
If you are waiting to play the first season of the Walking Dead you may want to avoid this trailer. For everyone else this is where we start to learn what life as Clementine really is going to feel like. The girl with a small stature but a big heart is going to have to do some growing up and it looks like its going to be one hell of a ride.
"The terrifying nature of Robert Kirkman's world has allowed Telltale to push the boundaries of interactive drama in video games to a place that has had fans anxious to know what will happen next in this series," said Dan Connors, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Today we can finally lift the veil, albeit only a little, on how this story will continue, and we'll soon be putting players in the shoes of a lead role that will challenge their expectations of how to survive in a world where no one can be trusted."

Telltale Games, Gearbox Software and 2K Announce 'Tales from the Borderlands' Episodic Game Series Premiering in 2014

9/12/2013

Picture
If Telltale did not steal the VGX limelight with their Game of Thrones game, the announcement of a Borderlands title certainly pushed the developer over the edge of expectation.
It seems fitting that Handsome Jack be the one to tell you more about the upcoming title but its looking great and you can see and read below.
Leading and award-winning developer and publisher of digital entertainment Telltale Games, in collaboration with leading and award-winning developer Gearbox Software, and publisher 2K, announced today their partnership to create an all-new story-driven episodic game series entitled, 'Tales from the Borderlands: A Telltale Games Series', set to premiere digitally in 2014 on home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices.

"Gearbox shares the independent spirit that Telltale was founded on, and like Telltale, they've broken the boundaries of what to expect within a gaming genre,"said Dan Connors, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Our partnership is something that we are very excited about, because it will unite the incredibly rich world of Borderlands with Telltale's focus on story-telling driven by player choice, and characters that people truly care about."

'Tales from the Borderlands' will explore and expand on the stories of existing and all-new characters from the world of Pandora, as seen in the critically-acclaimed and best-selling Borderlands® 2 from Gearbox and 2K.

"At the 2012 Spike TV VGAs, our studios and games - Borderlands 2 and The Walking Dead - were fortunate to do incredibly well that night winning more awards than any other games! So we met up later for a great first date, one thing lead to another and, well, we're having a baby," said Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software. "Borderlands is incredibly important to us, so it is meaningful to share that with this partnership. I have great confidence and excitement for what Telltale has in store for its all-new adventures in our universe."

Developed by Gearbox Software, and published by 2K - a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. - the Borderlands franchise has sold-in more than 15 million units worldwide, won more than 55 editorial awards, and was a breakout original property that invented a new genre, the FPS/RPG hybrid known as "shooter-looter."

Tales from the Borderlands: A Telltale Games Series will be published digitally by Telltale Games in partnership with Gearbox Software.

Telltale Games and HBO® are bringing Game of Thrones® into the gaming realm.

9/12/2013

For those who watched the VGX awards on Saturday night there were some great announcements mixed in with the slightly odd presentation of the entire show.
Chief among these was the announcement that Telltale games would be creating a series abased around The Game of Thrones franchise.
To say this made me giddy is an underestimation of biblical proportions. However for now we have to make do with a trailer and press release see below for more details.
Picture
Leading developer and publisher of digital entertainment Telltale Games and HBO Global Licensing today announced a partnership to create an interactive episodic game series based on the critically-acclaimed and Emmy® Award-winning epic drama Game of Thrones.

The multi-year, multi-title partnership between Telltale and HBO Global Licensing is targeted to premiere digitally in 2014 with an episodic game series for home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices. Specific platform details are yet to be announced.

"Since the very beginning, Telltale's goal has been to work alongside the most talented and respected forces in entertainment, bringing their worlds to the interactive space as no other game studio can," said Dan Connors, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Working with HBO to develop a new game series based on Game of Thrones is a natural fit for our studio. This partnership will create an experience that will captivate the huge, global Game of Thrones audience. It will put them in control of the epic stories of warfare, intrigue, violence and revenge that we know and love."

"We're delighted to be working with Telltale Games, a proven leader in the creation of engaging interactive content," stated Josh Goodstadt, Director of Global Licensing. "Our fans are always looking for new, exciting ways to engage with the Game of Thrones brand and this game series will put them right in the middle of the action by letting them decide where the story will lead. This brings a whole new dimension to the world of Westeros."

Based on the bestselling fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones is an epic story where political and sexual intrigue abound as seven noble families fight for control of the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms
