Mike Bithell Games has released the Cover art for Volume. A beautiful design by illustrator, A. J. Hateley, it appears to show the protagonist of the game, Locksley hidden beneath a melee of scrambled light and sound. Interestingly it also hints at a male or female version of Locksley. Mike has mentioned that, after a complete playthrough, you may be able to play again as a female character, whether this will actually be the same character remains to be seen. As can be seen here the design aesthetic is looking unique and interesting with the angular polygonal motif pervading all aspects of the game from the holographic projections to the UI and Art design. With a combination of stealth and non-violent weapons of distraction, Locklsey is the Robin Hood of his particular dark future. More details of the game can be found at Mike's site. Mike is very keen to share the development process and often you can see examples of his experimentation via his twitter account. See below for some examples. If you fancy having a play of a prototype of Volume, pop down to the Radius Festival in London from Thursday onwards. |
