Upcoming survival horror title, Daylight, will be coming to Windows and Playstation 4 on the 8th of April, ready to frighten you and your friends in weird and unusual ways.
Implementing the Playstation’s “share” feature, which allows players to stream content directly to Twitch, the game will allow viewers of the stream to influence the players game through chat.
The example that the developer used talked about viewers typing the word “Meow” into the chat menu of the Twitch stream, resulting in the player experiencing a cat meowing in-game. Though this is a basic example (the game is still under development), it appears that the Twitch integration will allow more interacting between the streamers and their viewers. An awesome idea which will lead to interesting and unique experiences.
When it came to exactly what words would trigger events, the folks at Zombie Studios remain tight lipped, leaving it up to the community to find out which phrases will frighten their victims.
Couple all this with the procedurally generated Mid Island - home to the Mid Island Hospital turned prison, and the Forest, an open area of scrub and swamps - every play-through will be different. No two players will experience the same scares. There will be no guides to follow online; no help from YouTube walkthroughs.
Truly terrifying.
Daylight will hit Steam and Playstation 4 on the 8th of April, retailing for £11.99.
