The Marvel Universe is one of the richest properties in entertainment. I use that phrase due to the fact Marvel is a cross medium juggernaut at the moment. Well the gaming side had a big hit with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and now the game is expanding with the Asgard Character Pack. You can find out more from the trailer below but things may about to become a bit God like. |
With consoles now becoming in essence small form factor PC's the gap between the console and PC is shrinking all the time. However one area where the PC still reigns supreme is the modding community. These awards from ModDB celebrate all that is great in the world of fan based creation. As yet another year reaches its end, it is time to crown the 2013 Mod of the Year after 141,000 players choice votes. Below you can see a video detailing the marrying of both history and gaming as the RAF museum together with Wargaming rescue and then exhibit a World War 2 Dornier17. It shows a wonderful community spirit from both parties but also the desire to preserve a piece of history.

After being in development for the last three years, Banished has gained a following with it’s amazing in game graphics, original town building and resource management system, dynamic seasons and an original touch with the lack of a combat system. Regarding combat the developer replied with the following, “Combat is a possibility. I have a design for it - but I'd really need to prototype it before I make a definite decision. Even if it does get added as an expansion, there will always be a way to play without it. I'm in the same mindset as you - sometimes I just want to build without worrying about the town being destroyed.” Development of the game over the last three years has taken the studio from zombie title into the beautiful piece of software we see today, each of those steps has being recorded through Shining Rock Software’s devlog. Teasing the gaming community with screenshots, videos and updates on the process has kept many salivating at the mouth in anticipation and hopefully January will let us finally get our fill. At the moment nothing is set in stone, but with a PC version of Banished hopefully here for January stay tuned for more from Shining Rock Software or head over to Reddit for full AMA.

Wargaming, the leading free-to-play MMO developer and publisher, today announced the first details for Update 8.10 for its massively popular free-to-play MMO action World of Tanks. The upcoming update will add two branches of Japanese tanks into the game. ![]() The future of computers and consoles receives a lot of attention at the dawn of a new generation. When I think about the future, and how I see things going, I can only imagine things going in one direction. I envision nondescript boxes, clamshells and tablets; connecting up through a mobile internet connection to a server where a simple login process gives the user complete access to everything they need. Operating systems won’t be stored locally and computers won’t need to meet system requirements in order to run games. Everything will be sent to us from this central location, where the server has already handled all the processing and is simply delivering it to the computer sitting in front of you, using a single subscription. I have a weakness for Chromebooks and external graphics cards for laptops, and I’m always interested in technology that I can imagine fitting into my future. But we’re not there yet. ZOTAC’s ZBOX series have been offering computers in tiny boxes since 2006, and the company have just announced a new addition to their mini-PC lineup. The ZBOX Nano AQ01 is a palm-sized, quad-core computer using AMD’s A4-5000 APU, which makes it a close relative to the APU found in the Sony Playstation 4 and Xbox One. While you probably can’t expect this little guy to push Battlefield 4 or Crysis 3, it’s sure to be enough to cruise through older games and most tasks outside of gaming and video editing. Included in the box along with the chip is a 500GB hard drive, 4GB (up to 8) of RAM and a 802.11ac Wi-Fi chip, making this little unit a perfect choice for streaming or as a media centre. While ZOTAC’s ZBOX Nano AQ01 might not be what I see at the end of the road, it looks like a great rest-stop. Free GTA Online Deathmatch & Race Creators Update Now Available![]() The free Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta update for Grand Theft Auto Online is now available for PS3 and Xbox 360. Just download the latest automatic title update to gain access to some of the same tools our own game design and development teams use to craft custom skirmishes and races in any of the following modes:
To get started, access the Creator option from the Online tab of the pause menu. From here, you can start creating your own custom Deathmatches & Races or load and edit a previous creation. From there, you can check out a brief tutorial before you fully dive in (which we highly recommend). ![]() Deathmatch You can create free-for-all or team variant modes; find your Deathmatch location anywhere in Los Santos or Blaine county, then drop the Trigger Location, where players will meet up to play your Deathmatch. Control the pace of your custom match with gameplay options Team Start Points and Spawn Points. With the operational foundation laid, dig into a full suite of Weapons and Vehicle customization; all weapon and vehicle classes are at your disposal to place around your Deathmatch. You can also drop Props like containers and ramps, to create hot spots for gunfights, more cover, or maybe you just want a few Sanchez dirt bikes to go airborne in the middle of a gunfight. ![]() Races Get started with a working knowledge of race creation by playing through the tutorial and building a land race. Once you've successfully published your first Land Race, both Sea and Air Races will be available for creation. In the Race Creator you can set the basics; Race Type (Race, GTA Race, Rally Race) and Route Type (Laps or Point to Point), number of players, starting grid size, vehicle class and more. Once you’ve set the basics, the full map becomes your racing paradise – take your land, air and sea races anywhere you want them to go. Add stunt jumps with custom cameras, create obstacles, and take your opponents on your dream (their hell) ride through Los Santos and Blaine County. ![]() Once you've finished, you'll be prompted to test your Deathmatch or Race against computer controlled characters – completing a valid test before you publish your creation ensures your race is working perfectly, and will prevent you from publishing (or playing someone else’s) broken match. Published creations appear inside your GTA Online session and on the Social Club website (a linked Social Club account is required to use the Creator). We'll also be periodically reviewing the best community-created content to recognize and distinguish them as Rockstar Verified. ![]() Along with the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta, the latest automatic title update has a host of new fixes and updates for Grand Theft Auto V's Story Mode and GTA Online, including the flexibility to create weapon-locked deathmatches, giving players the ability to run inside their apartments and higher cash payouts when increasing the difficulty on Missions. For full details on the fixes and improvements in this latest title update, visit the Rockstar Support page for all the details.
"The terrifying nature of Robert Kirkman's world has allowed Telltale to push the boundaries of interactive drama in video games to a place that has had fans anxious to know what will happen next in this series," said Dan Connors, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Today we can finally lift the veil, albeit only a little, on how this story will continue, and we'll soon be putting players in the shoes of a lead role that will challenge their expectations of how to survive in a world where no one can be trusted."
