Disney Interactive officially announced today the latest playable characters to appear in the 2.0 Edition of Disney Infinity - Merida and Maleficent.
Merida and Maleficent are playable in the all-new Toy Box 2.0 mode of the game, along with all characters previously released for Disney Infinity. Players will be able to use both characters, plus hundreds of Disney-themed items, locations, props and vehicles, to create new adventures in customised worlds.
Key highlights include:
- Merida: With her untamed fiery red locks, this headstrong Disney•Pixar Princess will definitely leave her mark in Disney Infinity. Between her sharp sword and bow combo attacks with ricocheting arrows, she can upgrade her aim with elemental freeze arrows, freezing enemies in front of her then following up with rapid shots showing off her impressive athletic skills as an archer and sword fighter.
Both Merida and Maleficent will be available in retail stores this fall. Additional Play Sets and characters will be announced in the coming months.
- Maleficent: The wicked title character from the upcoming Walt Disney Studios film employs numerous magical powers and can attack using her magic in melee and ranged combat. To defeat enemies, Maleficent has the ability to utilise projectile and area of effect attacks that affect multiple targets within a specified area, brambles that she summons from the ground and ravens that she can call on to attack targets.

Invasion is available a la carte or as part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Season Pass, which gives fans access to all four epic Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Packs** planned for release in 2014 –Onslaught, Devastation, Invasion and Nemesis.Invasion’s four new small-to-medium-sized multiplayer maps feature the fast-paced gameplay Call of Duty fans crave, each one donning a distinct look, feel and unique killstreak. Anchoring the Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC Pack is the next instalment in the game’s Extinction mode episodic narrative, “Episode 3: Awakening.” In Awakening, the team descends into the perilous alien underworld to strike at the subterranean fortress of the Ancestors – the mysterious puppet-masters behind the Cryptid invasion. Armed with a range of new hi-tech weapons and equipment, the team must penetrate a series of defensive barriers to reach the Ark and unlock the secrets of the Ancestors’ psychic powers. As the final battle draws closer, the fate of the Earth and the future of the human race hang in the balance. When Titanfall first graced the Xbox One it managed to take over the lives of quite a number of gamers’ lives. At least four of the staff here at Backwards Compatible have spent well in excess of forty hours in Multiplayer action. Now the monster is back as Titanfall has released its first batch of new maps. These are Swampland, Runoff and War Games. As with all Titanfall maps, verticality is clearly apparent as can be seen from the trailer above. These new arenas are helping to grow the variety of maps that already exist in the base game and will be added to with future DLC releases. Each new map adds a different tactical feel to the game: Swampland is, as it sounds, a swamp environment with man-made structures dotted around the outskirts. The trump card, however in this map, is the natural flora of the environment as Pilots use trees to their advantage to gain position against the opposition. Runoff continues the theme of water but, instead, returns players to a more industrial location. This map is centred around three structures, all with several access points on multiple levels, keeping the action fresh and varied on every playthrough. Lastly we have War Games, or maybe it should be called Wall Games, as this is, by far, a Wall Runner’s dream. The environment lends itself to the sprightly pilots who embrace the more useful parkour aspects of Titanfall. Each map has its own play advantages for each player style but always be mindful that a Titanfall is never far away. The Titanfall Expedition DLC shipped for PC and Xbox One on the 15th of May and will release for Xbox 360 in June. This post has been sponsored by EA Games, but all thoughts are our own.

When it comes to Batman I have spent more time in the Rocksteady's Gotham/Arkham than in any other form of media. I love the Nolan/Bale films and there are comic runs that are special. However with Arkham Asylum Rocksteady crafted a complex tale with an interactivity that up to that point I had not experienced. Now with the Brititsh developer back at at the helm it looks like Arkham Knight will be my game to look out for in 2014 (Paul). Below is the first official gameplay trailer and it looks mouthwatering to say the least.
