In what is looking like an ill thought out pre-tour trip to Hong Kong, the Lions have been predicted a sizeable win. The team at Alternative Software and HES played the match out between two of Rugby's unique teams. This will be the first time the teams have met since 1977. We're not sure if the developers have been able to code in the excessive heat the City is experiencing at the moment. But one thing is for sure, the Lions' roar is about to heard for the first time in four years. |
Backwards Compatible thinks gaming should be everywhere, even in the classroom. Find out (by selecting the lovely picture below) how Little Big Planet has been used to bring a bit of game design into the classroom. Watch this space for more on gaming in education.
With the release of Fuse, in the UK tomorrow, Jon and Paul have played through the co-op together. These are their first impressions of the game. Hideo Kojima has made his thoughts known about the current style of trailers in the games industry. He makes it quite clear, through his English Twitter account, for The Phantom Pain trailer, that he wants to focus on character and story, rather than a Hollywood style of explosions and cacophony. Knowing the Metal Gear franchise, it is doubtful this means that the game will lack these elements, but it is interesting to see developers focussing more on the narrative aspect.
As is becoming the norm for most titles if you pre-order the game from participating retailers you will be upgraded to the Rivals Ultimate Cop Pack. This gives you access to the Nissan GTR Black Edition Cop Car and advanced Pursuit technology. The fact you will be able to play as a cop or Racer points to a game from the NFS Hot Pursuit mold allowing dual progression as you level up as a Racer and a Cop.
From the video and Screenshots supplied one of the big changes is the return of Ferrari to the NFS franchise adding one of the worlds premium car companies to the list of cars available within game. Back in 2011 NetherRealms studio created for my money the best single player experience in a fighting game to date. This was due to the game not being just a ladder system but having an actual narrative.
Up until now though the have had been the preserve on the console with editions on the Xbox360, PS3 and Vita. However from the 3rd of July digitally and 2nd of August physically PC players will now get the chance to partake in this brutal fighting experience. Adapted by High Voltage Software this version will be the Komplete edition which includes the four DLC characters Kenshi, Rain, Skarlet and Freddy Kruger of Nightmare on Elm Street Fame.
One of the biggest reveals from the Xbox One event was the new game from Infinity Ward. With further details coming out at E3. So for the moment we have to be content with the screenshots created within a new engine and the news that the single player story was penned by Traffic writer Stephen Gaghan. With a great writing talent on board the hope is the single player will push the ante for storytelling. One thing for certain is that Call of Duty will be releasing on the next generation and going hard for our gaming hour The successor to Microsoft's Xbox 360 console has been revealed at a press conference that was streamed around the world. The Console name Xbox One feeds into the principle that the console will be the 'One' piece of equipment you need for entertainment in the living room. Whether this is a masterstroke or a mis-step remains to be seen. Below we will showcase some of the highs of the new system.
On the gaming front, our feeling from the Xbox One reveal is that it is appealing to the middle ground of gamers with the focus on bringing the exclusive content for COD and FIFA. This is no bad thing, by gaining a major following of gamers Microsoft may secure enough of an install base to keep the Xbox as a market leader, if not on the cutting edge of indie game development.
With an updated engine the second installment of the World War 2 RTS will shift its emphasis from the Western to the Eastern front. In the wastelands of the USSR you will not only have to deal with enemy troops but an altogether different foe will always be lurking, The Weather. Hopefully this mechanic will create extra pressure on players and give the game an even deeper strategic feel. One thing is for sure the game looks impressive from my time with it at Eurogamer 2012 and other exposures it looks to build upon the success of the originaland that should be the recipe for a great title. So the question is in the great Patriotic war which side will you take? We have included a array of screenshots to try to wet your appetite for the game.
The Dark Knight hardly needs any introduction. However some of his foes in the upcoming title from Warner Bros Montreal are not generally as well known. The new villain list includes Black Mask and the subject of some nice pre-purchase Dlc Deathstroke. With the promise of a post origin but pre-Arkham Asylum story line the addition of these villains is a welcome change.
Even though the game was surrounded with controversial on its release it gained good critical acclaim with a 76% rating on Metacritic. The novel way of using your voice (via the PS2's Mic) as a distraction technique added a level of complexity to the stealth and increasing the imersive nature of the gameplay.
One of the amazing things about Gran Turismo has always been its graphics. The video attached will show off some of these changes but most of all it shows off the cars.
There are also some usage stats about the game included showing the dedication of fans of the GT series. Unfortunately one thing a trailer cannot do is show off how the game feels to play but with the promise from Kaz that he will be able make you "feel" the force while cornering as well among other upgrades then this really will be the premier driving simulator out there. The other great piece of news is a demo will be released in July to coincide with the new GT Academy. Allowing the speculation to stop and you to find out if the developers really were able to create video gaming gold.
