Hoo-Rar. This time we've got bad ass mo-fos with boom sticks. You asked for them and we have answered the call and delivered shot-gun toting armed guards.

Read The Blog

These guys are excellent for suppressing your prisoners more raucous behaviours.  Stick a couple of these dudes in the canteen or the yard and things'll calm right down.  Useful they just wander around looking tough, but hit that weapons free button and things'll get messy - you'll lose so many prisoners that it'll be a game-over event, but don't let that stop you blowing off some steam.

We've also introduced smart highlighting in the object menu and introduced forestries so you can begin producing the raw materials for use in the workshops. As per usual there are a ton of bug fixes and the modding system continues to grow. Enjoy!

AUTO CLUB REVOLUTION RELEASES LEGENDARY WATKINS GLEN TRACK TO COMMUNITY CHALLENGE

29/1/2014

Picture
This is a title I'm diving into as we speak, by that I mean its downloading. The cars races and tracks look spectacular and if the handling model is right this free to play could be real winner. Look out for future updates and until then drool over the details and screens below and then get going to sign up on the games site here
To celebrate the start of 2014, Eutechnyx’ free-to-play online racing game and car community, Auto Club Revolution, today released the majestic Watkins Glen International track and a special challenge to its players, as well as a developer diary giving racers everywhere a behind-the-scenes look into the creation of this famous location. Known to avid racers worldwide, the New York-based track has played host to nearly every type of major road racing event since it was founded in 1948, including F1, NASCAR and Indycar.

Twitter:@autoclubrev Facebook Forum

Eutechnyx has selected three of the most popular Watkins Glen courses to include in-game, but only one – the speedy, NASCAR-style Short Route – will be available to drivers today. Giving the community added incentive to race together toward a common goal, the ACR team has issued the ‘Race to Release’ challenge, which will unlock the remaining Watkins Glen paths when completed. In order to unlock the two longer routes – the Watkins Glen Classic Boot and Watkins Glen Boot – the community must collectively race 100,000 miles at the track. Players will be updated via social media and the ACR forums as key milestones along the way are met, as well as through a unique progress tracker bar on the ACR website.

Based in Newcastle, UK, the development team, including its executive producers and track designers, worked around the clock for 12 weeks to carefully recreate Watkins Glen as accurately as possible, combing a vast sea of reference pictures, telemetry data and videos. Beginning with placing the initial track layout in the ACR virtual environment, ‘The Glen’ underwent time checking and tweaking based on camber heights and the width/length of curbs in various places to ensure that the virtual track matched its real-world counterpart. Once the layout was completed, assets were fully produced, ranging from crowd seating/stands, trees, road markings, and buildings – even portable toilets! Eutechnyx’ talented concept and environment artists worked together to add the final touches, polishing it off before working with the Quality Assurance team to ensure the track was bug-free. After final sign-off, detailed videos were sent to the track officials for approval, guaranteeing complete authenticity to the renowned Watkins Glen International.

Wildstar is a new upcoming MMORPRG from Carbine studios. Although we have not yet had a release date we are getting tonnes of information and images concerning the game.
In this latest Dev Speak video we get to see the range of choice we have in terms of character look, Mounts and of course houses.
With a strong visual style this future fantasy title is looking to hook new players in an already crowded marketplace. If they continue with the work they have been doing then I think they will have a strong shout.

Details and Screens for the first DLC Pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts, Onslaught available now on XboxLive

29/1/2014

Onslaught is here.  The first of four massive, Downloadable Content (DLC) Packs for Call of Duty®: Ghosts, the definitive online experience and #1 most played multiplayer title on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 kicks-off today.  Launching first, exclusively on Xbox Live for both Xbox One and Xbox 360, Onslaught features four classically designed, smaller to medium sized Call of Duty® multiplayer maps delivering the fast-paced multiplayer experience fans love, the all-new “Maverick” dual-purpose Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle and “Episode 1: Nightfall,” the first instalment in Call of Duty: Ghosts Extinction’s four-part episodic story that follows humankind’s first contact with the Cryptids.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught delivers a variety of new offerings for fans to dig their teeth into, starting with four new multiplayer maps.

Picture
“Fog” is a chilling homage to classic horror films, set alongside the banks of a murky lake. Players skilled enough to pick up the map’s unique Field Order can become the embodiment of terror by donning the mask of Michael Myers, one of cinema’s most iconic horror characters of all-time, as the entire soundscape changes to the eerily familiar Halloween theme music.
Picture
“BayView” is a coastal Californian boardwalk that offers players fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay amid a seaside town. Clever players will be able to climb onto the map’s moving trolley to engage enemies, as well as call in devastating artillery strikes from the Naval Destroyer anchored offshore.
Picture
Containment” drops players into a raging battle amidst a war-torn Mexican village, where the action centres on the crippled remains of a small bridge holding a hi-jacked truck leaking radioactive material.
Picture
“Ignition,” is a completely reimagined version of “Scrapyard” – the fan-favourite multiplayer map from Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2, placing players into a deserted space launch facility with frenetic action amongst abandoned warehouses, flame trenches, a massive transport crawler and dynamic map elements that can take players out if they’re not paying close attention.
Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught also introduces the first instalment in Extinction’s new, four-part episodic narrative with “Episode 1: Nightfall.” As the initial foray into this single, connected story that will be told across each DLC Pack launch throughout the year, “Episode 1: Nightfall” takes fans to a remote research facility hidden deep within the Alaskan wilderness, where a small recon team must infiltrate the facility to find out what happened to the mysterious Nightfall Program. This expanded Extinction storyline introduces new characters, plus two all-new alien species and debuts an exclusive Venom-X weapon that pulverises the Cryptids, as players delve deeper into the story of what happened following mankind’s first contact with the Cryptids in Colorado.

On top of the new maps and first episode of the Extinction narrative, Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught arms players with a new, dual-purpose addition to the multiplayer arsenal with the “Maverick”. Outfitted with a lightweight wood stock, the “Maverick” can be selected in either the Assault or the Sniper Rifle class, depending on players’ play style and preference.

Experience the Dornier 17 Exhibition Globally with an Augmented Reality App From Wargaming and The RAF Museum

Augmented reality is an amazing piece of tech, unfortunately its applications have sometimes been a little lacking unless you fancy buying something from a scanned code. However Wargamiing and the RAF Museum are using AR to help teach people about a piece of history in the form of a Dornier 17 (a World War 2 aircraft). At the moment available on iOS with an Android app due for release soon this educationally based app will help give viewers impressions on the size of the plane as well as historical information. Best of all is that its free as is entry to the RAF Museum where it is housed. The museum location details are here and its open daily from 10AM.
For more info you can check out further details below.

Wargaming and RAF Museum Expand Dornier 17 Exhibition Globally with Augmented Reality App

Picture
Wargaming today announced the global launch of an augmented reality application drawing focus on the Dornier 17 aircraft currently in exhibition at the RAF Museum in Cosford, Shropshire, United Kingdom.

Working with the Royal Air Force Museum, Wargaming set out in October of 2013 to recover the only known surviving Dornier Do17 aircraft. Success saw the opening of the “Wargaming.net Interpretation Zone” at the RAF Museum, where visitors can examine the aircraft undergo renovation and learn more of its colorful history and important role during World War II.
The newly launch application, named Apparition, will take that interpretation to a new interactive level using augmented reality to view a virtual version of the aircraft flying over the museum, as well as other historical information.

To celebrate the launch of the Apparition application, both the RAF Museum and Wargaming encourage the public to be the first to view the Dornier 17 in their own part of the world. Scattered around the globe are hundreds of virtual locations where users of the application can view and take photos of their Dornier 17 and upload them online for a chance to have their photo be part of the next Wargaming.net Interpretation Zone, schedule to launch at the RAF Museum London in 2014.

Picture
“As a global games company that specializes in distributing digital content to every corner of the world, we are delighted to partner with the Royal Air Force Museum,” said Tracy Spaight, Special Projects Director at Wargaming. “Taking the Dornier outside the museum walls and bringing it to people all over the world is truly taking this great experience and bringing the museum directly to people around the world.”

Europe's Highest Court Confirms Nintendo’s Anti-Piracy Product Security is Lawful #gamingnews

24/1/2014

Milan, Italy:  The Court of Justice of the European Union (“CJEU”), the highest court in the European Union, on 23rd January 2014 handed down its decision in Case C-355/12 (Nintendo v PC Box). Nintendo is pleased that the ruling of the CJEU is generally consistent with the opinion of Advocate General Sharpston and Nintendo’s own observations to the questions referred by the Milan Tribunal.

The CJEU’s interpretation of the Copyright Directive appears to be in line with the international obligations of the European Union and its Member States under the WIPO Copyright Treaty and furthermore, supports those national Courts in Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and the UK which have already considered and applied the same provisions of EU law consistently resulting in many positive decisions against sellers of circumvention devices.

Nintendo will continue to fully engage with the Milan Tribunal, from whom the reference to the CJEU arose, in order to allow it to reach a considered reasoned decision in the civil case between Nintendo and PC Box. Furthermore, since Nintendo only ever utilises technological protection measures which are both necessary and proportionate to prevent widespread piracy of its intellectual property, and since the preponderant purpose of the circumvention devices marketed by PC Box is to enable piracy of legitimate video games, Nintendo is confident that the application of the guidance set out by the CJEU relating to proportionality will enable the Milan Tribunal to determine that the sale of circumvention devices is unlawful.

In the meantime, Nintendo maintains that the commercial dealings in circumvention devices infringe copyright laws as well as other intellectual property laws and Nintendo will continue to pursue those involved in the distribution of such devices.
