PARROT ROLLING SPIDER: MINI DRONE, MAXIMUM EXCITEMENT!
-- The stability of bigger drones...
Ultra-compact, incredibly light (55g) and very robust due to its polyamide structure, the Parrot Rolling Spider is a flying drone comfortable both indoors and outdoors.
It is piloted using Bluetooth Smart via the free FreeFlight 3 application for iOS, Android Smartphones and Tablets, and for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.
Like a flying acrobat, its engines are powerful enough to perform high speed flights and loop-the-loops with astonishing agility.
-- Flying is nice, rolling is good too!
The Parrot Rolling Spider can be equipped with two ultra-light wheels held by a carbon-fibre axis (10g)
Once clipped to its hull, the Rolling Spider races on the ground like a fast car and like a spider, can climb up the wall and continue its run across the ceiling...
Don't think for a second its wheels impact the agility of the Rolling Spider, it can throw itself into the air with the same agility and still loop-the-loop!
-- An acrobatic ace, on the ground and in the air
The Parrot Rolling Spider performs high-speed flights: it rushes, turns right, turns left, does front, back and side flips with amazing fluidity and stability following the commands of the pilot.
When the pilot 'swipes' the screen from top to bottom, the Rolling Spider turns 180 degrees in a flash!
The Parrot Rolling Spider is on the alert even when its engines are off! Throw the MiniDrone and its sensors detect it instantaneously: starting its engines automatically and stabilising it in the air, ready for your instructions!
A vertical camera (60 fps), positioned under its fuselage, helps keep it stable in flight. It also enables you to take snapshots, which are recorded on the flash memory (1Gb) of the Rolling Spider. The snapshots can then be transferred to a computer via the embedded micro-USB connector.
-- Piloting as easy as child's play...
Thanks to its numerous sensors and autopilot capabilities, the Parrot Rolling Spider is extremely easy to fly via the FreeFlight 3 application, downloadable for free on iOS and Android platforms, and on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.
Like a well-trained pet, this connected flying robot responds immediately to your commands. Press the 'take off' button: its engines start, it takes-off and stabilises while awaiting your commands.
Tilt your Smartphone or Tablet to the right or the left and it follows instantly! Swipe to the right and the Rolling Spider turns 90 degrees in a flash!
Game over? A quick press on the 'landing' button starts the automatic landing procedure.
-- Small, but full of sensors!
A worthy heir to Parrot's other consumer drones, the Parrot Rolling Spider has remarkable flight stability!
It uses technologies usually dedicated to bigger drones:
- A 3-axis accelerometer & a 3-axis gyroscope measure and analyse each movement of the drone and, thanks to its autopilot, rectify the position of the Rolling Spider
- The vertical camera (also used for snapshots) compares, every 16 milliseconds, an image of the ground to the previous one to determine the speed of the Rolling Spider
- An ultrasound analyses the flight altitude up to 4 metres. Beyond this, a pressure sensor controls the drone at altitude
-- Three colours, 12 moods
The Parrot Rolling Spider is available in red, blue and white and comes with a bonus set of 12 self-adhesive 'mouths' that can be positioned on the front face of the drone to make each Rolling Spider unique and help express the mood of the day.
Light, robust and fast, the Parrot Rolling Spider is also designed with safety in mind: its engines stop when there is any contact with the propellers.
The Parrot Rolling Spider works with a rechargeable Lithium Polymer 550 mAH battery (also compatible with the Parrot Jumping Sumo)
