From its early solicite I have been intrigued by this series. The slice of life feeling of the story along with its eyes open look at the deep south has manged to live up to and even overcome my expectations. The two Jason's have crafted a tale that is worthy to go any bookshelf as their story focuses on what one man can do to a town to drag it down. The story has a very personal feel and from reading the back matter in the first issue you can tell that is certainly the case. Unfortunately we do not get those pieces in this trade instead we get a wonderful gallery of variant covers along with a series of Jason Latour's sketch art. We reviewed each issue of the arc and you can find those linked below they are spoiler lite but still be warned. Thankfully I have not spoilt the true twists and turns but still this is a story mostly about character and also is a book you really should read. Rating 4.5/5 |
