FIFA 14 a truly next gen experience.

26/9/2013

In the fight for my footballing (Soccering for those of you who do not care for the correct terms) money I have put my money in the FIFA camp and to find out why you can check out this earlier article.

However now it seems I have to make up my mind on where to play the league leader.

I was lucky to get an early day play on the Alienware X51 equipped with an i7 processor. As my opponent was introduced to me with the phrase 'he is the FIFA expert around here' I started to panic. I chose Chelsea as if I was going to humiliated I was not going to risk having it done playing as Arsenal. My opponent chose Real Madrid and he promptly tinkered with his set up while I sat there in a state of pre-match nerves.

Then the moment that shocked me the most, the total lack of loading time. It literally felt he chose his team and then we started. The skills section that is now ubiquitous in FIFA was there but not as loading screen just as a nice touch. This trend continued throughout the game with the breaks for goal celebrations (1 for me 2 for my opponent) being almost nonexistent

This is how I want to play a football game (and indeed all other sport titles) with no pauses while on the pitch no matter how minimal.

The PC is apparently comparable to the next gen sytems and if this is true then I think I will not even bother with the PS3 version, as the look and feel of the game feel sluggish when compared to the version I played.

The big question now is do I go for FIFA on the PS4 or do I upgrade my PC and play the game the way I experienced it today.

Below are some Screenshots to help show the graphics of the PC version and how they really are a setup on the visual front.
