Best Game Tie in Award; And the Winner is

Mass Effect Foundations

Picture
This award is for the series as opposed to one particular issue. So each cover is a link to the issue we have reviewed.

It may seem odd to some that The Last of Us American Dreams has not won this award, the reason Mass Effect Foundations I believe is a better example of the Tie In ideal is the way it meshes Mass Effect 2 and 3 together. You are getting back story of a number of characters in a way that can enhance the playing of both titles. The chance to get more intimate with Ashley and Urgnot are too much of an opportunity to pass up.

It's the great writing and visuals though that really steal the show. The way each character has been recreated with a strong resemblance to their gaming models without losing the comic edge really makes this feel like an extension of the game.

The four issues we have reviewed to this point (Two reviews are forthcoming) are a mixture of tales with each having a central albeit shadowy character always lurking. The combiantion of individual tales with a genuine meta story will make this a great trade in the end but for now just sit back and let Mac Walters spin you a tale.
