A couple of weeks ago I posted that Loot Crate were doing a TITAN themed box featuring TitanFall and Attack on Titan goodies with some Respawn exclusives and that this was worth possibly checking out at the then price with conversion rate, £17.60. It finally arrived this morning with no customs charges so that's all good.
So what was in the box?
- A custom designed Titanfall T-shirt.
- An Attack on Titan Volume One Graphic Novel.
- An Attack on Titan wristband.
- A Titanfall magnet.
- A Titanfall lanyard.
- A Titanfall Loot Crate branded pin badge.
- A TitanFall Premium Premium eGuide downloadable via code.
- GAEMS 30% OFF, Astro 15% OFF and Gunnar 25% OFF discounts to be supplied via email later.
Oh and a Loot Crate issue featuring exclusive content, an interview with Abbie Heppe and reviews of the products supplied and two sweets.
My verdict? To be honest, I don't think I'll be using the Prima eGuide myself. Had it been the actual guide which I understand might've been difficult to ship, I would've been satisfied with and had on display with some of my other guides on the shelf. The discount codes are perhaps a good opportunity to look further into the products they are for but I don't use gaming glasses. Headsets aren't really an interest at the moment (and even if they were I'd be looking into a Turtlebeach pair) and I don't need a gaming case as I rarely play my consoles anywhere but at home and wouldn't feel comfortable taking them anywhere else.
I'm not going to make any friends over this and I'm more than likely going to get some flak from the Loot Crate community which I've been following regarding my opinion but, is it worth the money? For the T-shirt and the lanyard and graphic novel maybe, but not by much. I was expecting something more and after being excited and impatiently waiting for my crate to arrive, I just don't feel that satisfied about it. Don't get me wrong, it's maybe good for those who don't have a comic book store in their local neighbourhood already (I'm a bit biased because I work in one and I see stuff like this everyday) and I can understand the excitement with the idea of it but I just wasn't blown away considering all the hype around getting a box of surprises in the mail.
So sorry guys, but on that note I think I'm out out for the foreseeable future.
