The Pig has a bit of an odd reputation in many quarters of society, however I never even thought about the why's and wherefores of its history form wild scavenger to domesticated farm animal. Enter Mark Essig and his Book Lesser Beasts; A Snout to Tail History of the Humble Pig.
It may seem like a bit of an odd subject for a book but to this point it has been thoroughly entertaining and informative.
The main draw is certainly the way you can follow the rise and fall of the pig in terms of the whims of those in power, an idea before this book I had never thought of.
The book is available on Audible which is where I'm listening to it.
I'm almost finished so look at for the review coming in the next few days
